I would love to throw in my two cents. The topic of language and religion is of great interst to me, but I'm tired.
But I'll give it a shot...
"Fuck" wasn't a word when the Bible was written. In fact, there was not such thing as English when the Bible was written. More to the point, the authors of the good book wrote in different languages.
So what? you say.
So this. "Fuck" is either four letters on a page, or it is a particular pattern of sound produced by human vocal chords that strike your ear drum and send a bio-electric signal to your brain pod.
Fuck is a fairly recent invention in human history, actually.

By this account, perhaps earliest derivation was 1503? Opinions vary...it's not really the point. The point is that when God created the world he did not write "fuck" upon a stone and say "thou shalt not utter *this* one..."
When i was a child, "crap" was a bad word, worthy of a good glare from old Mom. I think I can say with confidence my mother will not utter, "Crap!" with proper vehemence upon some displeasing event occurring, say the dropping of an egg, or news that my annoying cousin is coming over for the holidays.
The *only* thing that gives a word power to offend, the power to be a "curse" word, is the hearer/reader *giving* it that power.
Walk on to any construction site and you will hear a different version of the English language than that you hear in the class room. What you will not see on the construction site is a bunch of blushing construction worker either muffing their ears from the "foul" language, not getting in to fights; the language they use (such a "fuck") is cultural, it is part of their universe and it is unoffensive to them.
Mujus came to a construction site. FUCK, CUNT, DOUCHE BAG and all sorts of words that other segments of society *give* the power to offend are freely used here.
Mujus needs to grasp the concept that these are not curse words in this context -- we're not in his church -- and he's out of line suggesting that other must curb their speech to meet the *self-imposed* restriction and offenses of his life.
Word don't offend. People choose to be offended by words.
