Why? Because prohibition of this type of thing doesn't work and just creates eve more problems. I would rather the porn industry be legal and subject to regulation than a terrifying black market that results in even worse abuse and exploitation than it does now.

Indeed the law should be much more involved in the porn industry than it is now, because as you rightly say there is a lot of shady shit and abuse and exploitation that occurs in the industry.

But even beyond the actual cases of abuse, and the possible detrimental effects to the consumer, I was saying that I am against even the idea of porn because it is inherently objectifying of a person. A sex tape of someone you don't know which you watch for the purpose of getting off. That's objectification if there ever was such a thing. What is that person to you but a means to an end? That's my thought on the matter anyway. I can't see how porn can be life-affirming or humanizing, the other two problems with it set aside even momentarily.
