Players should really get a sitter rather than just hoping everyone will agree to a pause, though.

Wow, I would have thought no way in hell mods force pause, Turkey (or anyone else) is not required to vote pause... I hope Draugnar doesn't catch wind of this...

What do you mean, what do I mean? Nobody is required to pause, unless they agreed to it on the global tab ahead of time maybe. It may be pretty pathetic and extremely disrespectful, but my understanding was that Turkey does not have to pause and the mods cannot force him, though I suppose this is merely my understanding of the rules, I'll eagerly watch to see if the mods force pause, and then if they do, I'm pretty sure all hell will break loose, though I've been wrong before, and more than once... At least twice that I can think of off the top of my head! ;-)

He means that Draug is relatively infamous in the community for having a rather "anything goes" mentality about webdip, and was the brave pioneer who forced the admin/mod staff to begin instituting the "pause is not a diplomatic tool" rule of etiquette.

Wow, I honestly didn't know the mods would force a pause like that... Suppose each situation is different... Maybe I should read the global press in that game to learn more...

Global press makes me think that Turkey voted.

I really hope that was the case because there should never be a forced pause in that situation.

A moderator did NOT force pause that game. In fact, since we were never emailed about this, I think this is the first time an active mod has even been aware of the situation.

Other reasons such requests should come via email:
1) avoids public discussion about ongoing games (which is particularly problematic for anon and/or gunboats)
2) the mods check the email much more frequently. Most mods have email alerts on their phones, while a forum post can be easily overlooked.
