Yay, database backup killed my long EOG :D Well, here goes again:
I spotted the French solo potential in 1907. I thought about it and came to the conclusion that I could not solo before France did, especially with all Russian troops at my doorstep and no real defense at the stalemate line in the north, so I decided to play for the draw. That's why I moved to Bohemia from Tyrolia. I intended to send three messages:
1. Italy, I'm moving away from you. I'm taking Tunis to fight France, not you.
2. Germany, if you need me, I'll back you up.
3. Russia, if you attack me, I will get behind your lines and fuck you up!
The move to Silesia afterwards was intended to give the last two more weight. I'm curious how much of that got across. I'm pretty happy that I was able to send up a raider into northern waters, but I'm also pretty mad at myself for the retreat in 1911 where I went to Brest and condemned the unit. I mostly wanted to pull as many French units back from the stalemate line as possible, but it would have been better to stay in the waters around England.
Italy and Russia, it was great working with you both. I'm glad that we were able to defuse the situation in the east rapidly and efficiently.
