Hey - bought the 360 for Christmas and love it...except I miss multiplayer gaming from my endless years of PC gaming. What good 360 games are there -- and would there be interest in settingupa league of some sort? (LOVE my NCAA football, if you need a beat down...)
Today is Palm Sunday....on Friday we mourn the death of the greatest man to walk the Earth. Though He was both God and yet man. For those of you who do not realize the sheer magnitude of God's Love and sacrifice through this gesture of Grace, I would like for you to go out, purchase a Bible, and read the whole thing.
And the Bad News Just Keeps Marching In For Eden...
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/nflpa-warns-players-may-face-criminal-charges-bounty-155246283.html Even if charges aren't brought against any players...wow, now they need lawyers? More and more, the Raiders are seriously in jeopardy of losing that "dirtiest team" mantle, fair or not, to the Saints...that SB win isn't looking as clean anymore (which is a shame, to be fair...)
A former researcher at Amgen Inc has found that many basic studies on cancer -- a high proportion of them from university labs -- are unreliable. C. Glenn Begley identified 53 "landmark" publications -- papers in top journals, from reputable labs -- for his team to reproduce. 47 were frauds.
At what point does it become bad form to not draw or cancel because of NMRs/CDs? It seems like it is almost inevitable to have at least one cd in live games, but is it bad to profit because of that and push on for a solo despite all the other players voting for a draw/cancel?
WebDiplomacy and The Final Crusade? (Game Proposal/Invite)
I think it's safe to say one of our most discussed/popular/maddening discussion topics here on the threads has been religion--one vs. another, atheism vs. theism, discrepancies between definitions of those identities (see: SC and I having a near-Jewish Civil War) so...anyone up for a game? Represent your denomination/branch of agnosticism/branch of atheism, we'll chat...have some wine...last players standing "win" The Last Crusade...? ;)
Description: "A perpetual series of tournaments (like the leagues). Multiple tiers with promotion and relegation in between seasons.
Basic Idea: A spiritual successor (or alternative, if the leagues ever get back up and running) to the WebDip leagues. The major differences are player anonymity and a heavier emphasis on top-level competition rather than fraternization.
General format: Players are grouped into tiers. Each season is a tournament where players predominantly play within their own tier. Between seasons, players are moved between tiers based on performance."
New unnamed tournament:
threadID=847019 Pre-registration and survey: http://tinyurl.com/New-WebDip-Trny TD: Yonni
The tournament will be created based on the answers given in the survey. At the moment, one idea floating around is to create a 'triathlon' style tournament where players need to compete in full press, public press, and GB games.
I could do that. Seeing as TGM isn't updating his site, it may be worthwhile to start compiling the tournaments again. I'll do it after the weekend when I've got something other than just my phone to type on.
OK, here is a link to an editable website to keep tally of tournaments: http://tinyurl.com/WebDipTournaments
I don't mean to detract from TGM's site but having a more modular site may be useful for us until he comes back from hiatus. There still are some blanks in it so if anyone has something to add, let me know.
If you're a TD and want access to the page, message me and I can send you a link.
Looks like a player in our game got kicked out and someone took their place. The game is here: http://webdiplomacy.net/map.php?gameID=84494 The player in question is India, who was eighnjel or something like that, and is now timgard. India didn't log in all weekend but Argentina has never logged in and has not been kicked out. Is there any way to reverse this? Why did it happen? How do we replace Argentina?
