Has anyone played this variant? How does it impact the game, overall? I can imagine the short-term consequences for France, Germany, and Italy. I'm more asking about the indirect consequences for E,R,A,T, and if there are statistics on how that affects the winner. Thanks in advance!
I am writing a paper for a class and I was wondering if anyone can help me with the difference of what it means to be Ukrainian versus Russian. Obviously there is a language difference, but what about the ethnic differences? What precedent does Ukraine have to exist autonomously from Russia? Thanks for your help.
This is not an attack on either party, as we know both have some very skille and prolific liars.
But this Herman Cain thing. There is no longer any question he is lying about the affair he had. Should this matter? No. But why does he keep lying when it is obvious it is a lie and him doing so gives more credence to the allegations of sexual harassment against him. He expects us to believe that Mr. Get-A-Job-Deadbeat paid a woman for month to month expenses for 13 years, without his wife's knowledge?
Also I'd also like to say that I don't know the deal with these women who have affairs with men and then bust out and blab to the world as soon as it will injure the guy the most. If the guy pissed them off thats one thing, but this whole "my story needs to be told" bull shit is getting on my last nerve. You had consensual sex with a grown man and he gave you money for it. You martyr.

I know the deal with those women. Greed. They wanted money. They got money. They saw an opportunity to get more money and took it. They didn't get more money. They blabbed because they spent all their cash on cocaine and shoes and are now pissed because Herman won't pay 'em again.
As bad as it is, I could live with a president who lied about an affair *cough* Kennedy *cough* Clinton. One who can't get his mind around our intervention in Libya and supports a sales tax without repealing the income tax, now that's a guy we don't need.
@Santa - Please explain how it is so clear? I haven't heard anything remotely close to a proven fact, just allegations. Even the transcripts of the phone calls are him acknowledging the allegatiuons are damaging, but not an admission of any sort. Being arrested and booked on false charges is damaging, but it doesn't make one guilty of the crime.
The women didn't bring up the sexual harassment settlements. The Restaurant Association leaked that itself. But as usual, the machismo patrol will find any excuse to blame women for sexual harassment and portray them all as gold diggers and attention mongers. I guess in Yellowjackets world every woman is supposed to put up with sleazy advances and humiliation.
Ever think that the Ms. White did this out of solidarity with the women being viciously attacked by the likes of Yellowjacket & co? She's not pretending to be a martyr. She felt it would come out anyway even if she didn't confess on local TV.

It seems as though some of us think that charges of supporting/justifying sexual harrasment should be confined to those individuals that are personally disapproved of on a political/idealogical basis.

He ADMITS he has been paying this woman's bills without his wife's knowledge, live in a fantasy world draug, its your prerogative.

Oh right, I am grandstanding when you're smearing an innocent woman for no reason whatsoever, and making hay out of the complex distinction between being paid for sex and being given money for sex. I guess in your semantic world being given money for something doesn't equal getting paid. You're ridiculous.
If you said the phrase "give me money for being their son", then yes. Stop playing these games. You said she was being given money for sex. How is that different than getting paid for sex?

I drive home to see my parents and, unsolicited, they give me twenty dollars to cover gas and tolls. Are they paying me to come home? No. I came home and they gave me money for it.
This is stupid. Many affairs are basically prostitution. The women (or the men with cougars and boy toys) are in it for the money and the other party just wants the sex. That's why they are called sugar daddies. Pure prostitution. Others are about some emotional connection on one party's part while the other just likes getting something on the side and keeps the other financially sound and promises more than they will ever deliver to keep them on the hook. Then there is the affairs where both have an emotional attachment and eventually change their relationship if the can. The first is prostitution, the second emotional blackmail, and the third just unfortunate for all parties involved.
I don't think the mute button is working properly. Or rather, the unmute button. I accidentally muted a thread (Yellowjacket's about PPSC and Austria) and I went to my settings and found where it said that I had muted it, and selected to unmute it. I still cannot see the thread and no longer have the unmute option. Is this happening to anyone else?

Does the rule hold if one attack on a province is stronger than the other provided the stronger attack is conducted by the same country as beleaguered garrison in question? Sort of a Beleaguered Garrison rule working while simultaneously overruled by No Self Dislodgment rule?
