DCL, where are you?
Hey, so I was looking to find the DCL thread to see what was going on (because group B games are all over and I'm not sure about group A). I tried to find the DCL thread by looking through the forum archives but I went ten pages without finding anything, by which time I was into the old, dead, locked threads that can't even be replied to. Can someone tell me what's going on? I drew in all 3 games so I should be in the next round, right?

The Aftermath: Being Stabbed
I define a stab as any broken agreement or deception which leads to a change in ownership of one or more centers. In this thread I'd like to start by opening it up for inpt on how you react to being stabbed. This is NOT a thread about stabbing (just about being stabbed). I'll post my thoughts later in the thread.

Sadly this game ended before Hernando/trinity/alppu was exposed as a cheater. Nothing like playing for two months only to find out after the game has ended that the winner was a cheater! Thanks to the mods for sniffing him out.

Well from my point of view the game wasn't my best. Early war with France and I kibd of hoped Germany would help but i had to go it alone and although i got the convoy and took a home sc and spain I couldn't defend as well. Eventually i was overcome and was reduced to watching ;)

I would like to congratulate Jmeyersd on a fine win. I saw the win from about 1906 and wondered whether you would get it or not. I hope you all enjoyed the game. There is another game I'm making now classic anon WTA 30 D for anyone interested?

Im off for tonight. I dont get why russia didnt do anything about the stab? and to some extend, I dont get why france let that turkish fleet break through and cruise around for so long... I had a chance to disband it in fall 1909, so I am not totally without blame, but to the most extend I was just watching frustrated at a distance...

I was satisfied with my opening game, but never managed to break through against russia - france, your stab on me was well timed, you managed to keep me down, but you also managed to stop advancing against me, otherwise I would have started giving the game to the juggernaut.

Good game. I played poorly, even for my standards (which aren't very high to begin with as I'm still pretty new). I saw the RT form early and felt I needed to try and make a play to at least slow Turkey down. When I saw Russia's fleet move south as I moved into Eastern Med, I thought a stab from him on Turkey was in order. Unfortunately, I was wrong and pretty much cost myself the game.

Open as non-commital as possible,
hope one of E/G/I is nice. Yikes England
seems to have it in for me, but Russia's
second build means he has holding Norway
to worry about, which is wonderful. Russia
builds an NC fleet in 1901, something I've
argued against in the past, and it's going
to be useless to him in this game as well.
Quiet start for Turkey, and I hope Italy doesn't
come my way.

1902
War with England. Germany took Belgium, I found
that odd. I expected him to slip under the radar
while I and England fought. Italy is throwing
everything at Austria, this is going to
precipitate a juggernaut. And ha, pulled off
a fancy convoy. And predicted the move to Gas,
so a pleasant turn. Russia takes Serbia, I
hope this causes tension between them.

1903
Chaos. I considered this possibility, but thought it more likely that England would either try to
regain Liverpool or take Belgium. Horrible for me.
Germany is making gains in the meanwhile, and
this is going to end badly for both me and England
if we keep at it. Italy and Turkey also engaged,
Germany builds a fourth fleet! Terrible long term, but I now get some breathing space. If 1904 goes well, I might still be in it.

1904, 1905
Recovering centers from England, hoping Russia can hold of Germany for a while. Which puts me in an interesting situation. I want Turkey to not move on Russia, but I'm the only other target available.
Not good. Turkey uncomfortably close in WestMed.

1906
Turkey sneaks across the line! Brilliant moves, he knows he can deal with Italy and Russia at leisure.
Nervous moments for Russia. Last thing I needed at this moment, the Turkish attack. I was just going to shift focus on Germany.

1907. 1908
Largely worrying about trying to form the line and stopping mrore fleets from crossing the line.
Turkey looks set to stab Russia

1909, 1910
And we have the line! All Germany needs to do is to move to Clyde, I retake Liverpool and the Turkish fleet is snuffed out. But no, for some unfathomable reason, he moves to Barents. This single move will probably lose us the game.
Turkish fleet goes free, three of my units play Follow That Fleet while Germany still tries to take a StPetersburg that's doubly defended with two units. Whatever is he doing?

1911
Turk in the channel. If he takes Brest, it would tap Gascony, Pied would tap Mars, NA would tap MAO, and he would have two attacks on Spain, undefended. So I move stuff around to block Brest, he moves to Wales instead. I move NAO to MAO
in the hope that Germany will support that next turn

1912
Nope, he goes to Wales. Honestly have no clue what Germany is upto. Turkey's in MAO, and that's the game :(

I was Russia, and I just straight wasn't prepared for the stab. My war with Germany consumed all of my resources and I had to trust Turkey in the south. Italy fell faster than I thought he would and I was way out of position when Turkey built those two armies to come after me. I tried to react as fast as possible, but I was also worried after fighting with Germany for so long that he would take advantage of my retreat and I would be knocked out.

By the end, I was trying what I could to get us to a stalemate, but to no avail.

@PerO I was convinced Germany was new. At no point was I able to take out that Turkish fleet. I was trying since 1906, finally an opportunity turned up in 1909, and I hoped you'd take it, but you didn't :-/

@mosko Yes, Russia has nowhere to hide, you're not going to be part of any major lines as Russia. I was miffed when you took Munich, you cut my progress off completely. I would have helped you if you'd let me in, and we would have split Germany between us. The extra centers would have let me put up a larger fleet, and we might have made it.
Per Olander (1651 D(B))

I was frustrated when russia disbanded gal/boh, and thought he would try and settle in norway/stp for a part in the western stalemate if I gave him the opening. but yes, I could have disbanded in clyde, but its not always easy to predict the moves and levels of experience in gunboats - especially when you didnt stop him from going to mao, choosing to move to norwegian instead.

@ balaran, for future club games, wouldnt it be appropriate if you posted a list of the 7 players, so everyone knew who they played against? it would still be anon, but since you have the info, I think everyone ought to know too.

santosh (335 D)
25 Nov 11 UTC
Fair enough. I hoped he would just force Tyrrhenian, and took that risk. If he had, I would have been nicely placed to move on you. I underestimated Turkey's skill, but yes, time is rather limited in live games, so I was only looking Orders tab for my immediate neighbors.

Financial world abandons Europe en masse
A couple of weeks ago Kokusai Asset Management in Japan unloaded nearly $1 billion in Italian debt.
