Lunatic Marxists
Supporters of Castro's disastrous regime in Cuba love to blame the United States for Havana's problems, but this article shows everything wrong in Cuba has one cause, Marxism.

Bullying
While there is no doubt bullying is a major problem, and the suicides caused by it are tragedies, does making the kids who commit suicides tragic heroes encouraging more kidstake that route?

The International TV Exchange Program
Suggest 1 TV show you think absolutely MUST be seen by others--and espeically those who are maybe in another country and not familiar with the show. The NEXT person who comes along must watch an episode of said show, and suggest one for the next person...and so on and so forth, until all shows ever to air on the Tube are watched by the WebDip community. :)

Some of you wanted to beat on me. I think I can kick a single game shortly. Who is in, and what settings are preferred?

Ancient Med Stalemate Lines
I don't know if anyone is interested in studying or analyzing things like that, but I am. When I was first starting to play diplomacy (back in, oh, February?), I immersed myself in reading all about the strategies and theories that people had written articles on. Since discovering this site (back in, oh, last week?) I've really come to enjoy the Ancient Med variant.

Manning is 9-10 in the postseason.

Not overwhelming at all, and there are some one and outs from his younger years, but not terrible, basically .500, which means a playoff win and out, so that's to the Divisonal or Championship Game most years, at least.

Among active QBs he's tied for 2nd most wins with McNab--ALSO tragically and unfarily underrated, he does NOT deserve half the criticism he gets...except this year, anyway, but for his Eagle yeas, no.

Tops among active QBs?

Manning's nemesis, Brady, with a 14, tied with Bradshaw for 2nd all-time.

(Best QB record in the playoffs of all-time? None other than the greatest of all-time and hero of my team, Joe Montana, at 16-7...)

"it ignores all the elimination game that he performed great in"

Which ones were those? 99 - one and done.
2000 - one and done
2001 - no playoffs;
2002 - one and done; blown out 41-0 by your Jets
2003 - conference title game; had a bye, played one game
2004 - one and done; had a bye, scored a whopping 3 D in playoff loss
2005 - one and done
2006 - super bowl win
2007 - one and done
2008 - one and done
2009 - superbowl appearance
2010 - one and done

What is remarkable is how many seasons the Colts were the most dominant team in the league and yet blew it in the playoffs.

And c'mon now, the Cardinals had no business being in that Superbowl vs the Steelers, and they almost took it. Furthermore, he had a winning record with the Giants before they put in Eli Manning, who sucked. And Bulger replaced him at St. Louis because of an injury.

Don't get my wrong, I like Warner as a QB and a person...

I just can't call him underrated, as I think he's rated about right:

a very-good, borderline-HOF QB.
2002- was a very odd game. The field was muck after the Army Navy game and a week of rain. I still remember watching Vanderjadt try to kick a ball that sunk into the mud when the holder put it down. I remember the colts players having ridiculous times in the environment.
2003 he had something like 400 yards passing in the first game
2005 Vanderjadt missed a field goal
2007 Manning had 400 yards and 3 Touchdowns
2008 301 yards and a touchdown
2009 333 yards passing after picking apart the vaunted Ravens and Jets secondaries in the playoffs (among the most demoralizing game I've seen against the Jets)
2010- Led a drive against an improved Jets Secondary that again left me feeling helpless and put the Colts up within a minute, the jets won on a go ahead field goal.

+1 SC

A lot of those early losses were NOT Manning's fault, but the horrible Colts defense's fault...around 2005 they got better, and 2006 they won the SB.

After that, we have three straight years where he throws for 300+ YDs in the playoff game, apparently, and then last years epic with the Jets was...well...

Epic, it was a great game that came down to the wire, and no way is it Manning's fault they lost, it was just a great effort by both teams and the Jets got the last break of the game (that and their defense was a bit hungrier than the Colts' D, I think.)

I don't get how this is pinned on the defense when the offense couldn't manage to score more than 20 D in most of the games. In those so-called "bad" early years the defense let up 19, 23 (in OT), 41 (the offense scored 0), 24, and 20 D. It's not like Manning was lighting up the scoreboard. You should be able to score more than 17 D against an 8-8 Chargers team when you go 12-4 during the regular season.
Riphen (198 D)

Manning is good.

During the Regular Season...Like Brett Farve...but Better.

In recent years Brady has been the greatest QB. Hands down. And you can argue all the stuff about Great Coaching or Great Defense and Offensive Players to back him up. Which he did have. But he is consistent. And can win Clutch Situations.

But I will admit Tom Brady is not tough..neither is Peyton..

But Brett is.
Drew Brees curb-stomped Brett Favre to the moon with his BARE FISTS
I agree re Jim Kelly as most underrated QB. Nobody (outside of Buffalo) talks about him as one of the greatest ever because he's remembered as a serial Superbowl loser, rather than as the AFC dominator.

@santa: What was that shot at Kyle Boller? Did you mean Trent Dilfer, the mediocre QB who led the 2000 Ravens to a SB (as opposed to Boller, the mediocre QB who never did)? Personally, I cut Boller some slack. I think he is like Alex Smith if Smith never had the benefit of Norv Turner or Jim Harbaugh. In a rare case of draft day misjudgment, Ozzie Newsome was dazzled by the 50 yds on his knees stunt and reached for Boller after Byron Leftwich (no prize either) was snatched away. Boller had like five different OCs/QB coaches/special QB consultants in his first five years. That came after four different OCs in his five years of college. Would Boller ever have been really good in the right circumstances? Probably not, but like many QBs in the NFL, I don't think he ever really got a good chance (contrast Rodgers getting a chance to learn and develop on a winning team with a good offense). Boller still managed to hold down the backup QB job in Oakland, date a supermodel, and ultimately marry controversial beauty queen Carrie Prejean. Not bad.

Favre was a great QB. I'm not going to get engaged in BS about how he compares to other greats, but he was a god here for almost 20 years, and led us through some great moments.

So you think winning a superbowl is the only great moment a player can have? Watching our team rise from ugliness to greatness from 1991 to 1997 was a hell of a ride, and whatever you say about Favre, he was the man who led us there. Some players transcend traditional definitions of excellence in their fans. Favre was such a man in GB. By 1999 he could have thrown 4 picks every game and his fanbase would still love him.

So say what you want about him. In Wisconsin, we remember.
In Wisconsin, you wear blocks of cheese on your heads too.

I would say Ron Wolf and Mike Holmgren were the men who led you out of the wilderness. They set up a winning franchise. I'm not saying Favre didn't contribute. They had a good eye for spotting talent, including trading for Favre in the first place.

Favre was a great QB. This whole conversation has only been brought up because of his recent poor form. Can anyone truly say they'd have been saying anything like this in February 2007? He has fallen from grace now, but it's wrong to go back and reassess all his past glories because of it.

And Rodgers, man. That guy will outdo them all: Manning, Favre, Brady. He's the complete QB imho.
Who cares about toughness its all about winning the games, and Brady is the way to go.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))

I'll happily admit I'm biased when I say Brady is a little girl. F*ck the Patriots lol.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))

And agree with THM about Wolf and Holmgren: credit where credit is due, but we all know that the QB gets the reputation for what the whole offense does, for better or for worse.

Brady is replaceable. Cassel did fine for New England. Brady is a cog in a wheel.
Cassel did good because he was on the patriots, look at him now at Kansas city
Putin33 (111 D)
06 Oct 11 UTC
Well that's sort of the point. Would Brady do well on another team? Or even another coach? That's the question.
until a few years ago, no, now I think he has grown into the overblown stardom that surrounded him. He was a placeholder fo those awesome Pat Defenses, then somewhere along the way he started actually becoming an incredible QB

A Question, Doctor Who--And Sci-Fin In General--Fans:
The Terminator went back in time to kill Sarah and then John Connor.
The Borg went back in time to stop First Contact and assimilate Earth.
The Omega 13, for God's sake, allowed a do-over that let Tim Allen win.
Why don't Doctor Who bad guys just travel back in time and kill him as a baby? (Also, wtf happened in this season finale...I'm STILL confused!) :p
