If the System Administrators can pause all the games they should be able to unpause them as well. Would you do that soon, please?

I had a lot of fun the last time we played this.
Ask yes/no questions to determine who I am. The winner then chooses their won person for people to guess.

There are two players who are not checking in, and the rest of us would like to finish the game. What should we do? Is the game going to be unpaused automatically at some point?

Build Your Dream Cast
An offshoot of the "Best Actors/Actresses" thread...

Take a film or franchise, and, from all the versions, sequels, reboots, and remakes--what'd be your "dream cast?" Or, who would you cast if you had all your choices for your own, personal movie project?

How to restart games? Unpause?
I am thankful that the server has underhgone improvements, my thanks and congratulations to all who helped out.

In order to restart these games, does every player need to hit "unpause", or will the games unpause automatically once the details of swapping servers are cleared up?

I am the temporary dictator. Once we get enough citizens, I will choose who shall rule this great country.

For those of you who are skeptical, our government is organized into three main parts. The Dominus Magnificus, our king (or dictator); the Supreme Office, a parliament or cabinet of sorts; and the high noblemen, I'll explain their role later. Citizenship is listed under several classes: the traditional citizen, these people get to have certain rights and freedoms; the qualified citizen (These people have quallified for special rights or are esteemed citizens of the district Lord. There can be no more than fifty of these per region.); the lower noblemen (These are qualified citizens who have been elected as Lords by the traditional citizens. This position is lifelong, but can be revoked by the district's committee. A new Lord is elected after one dies or is revoked, his duty is to recruit military and law enforcement for the country.); the higher nobleman (This includes regional deputies and members of district committees. They hold a few rights that those lower than them do not have. The members of the district committees can vote to revoke regional deputies and the Lords. In order to revoke a Lord, they need the full vote of the entire committee and in order to revoke a regional deputy, they need the full votes of at least two of the committees under the deputies control. There must always be twelve committee members. This position is to be served in twenty year terms. Any qualified citizen can be elected as a member of the district committee by the traditional citizens. The regional deputy's role is to administer state taxes and to serve as the king's ambassadors. Each regional deputy is given charge of three districts and is resposnsible for the administering of justice in each district. This position is to be served in seven year terms. The regional deputy is to be elected by the qualified citizens. Any district Lord may run for the position of regional deputy that is directly above him.); the Supreme Office and the king (Both are life long positions. The king has complete control over all laws, taxes, and the military. His decision can only be overrided by the votes of all members of the Supreme Office. The king is to select a member of the supreme office as his successor, if no successor is listed, then the king's son takes the position until he decides who should have succeeded his father. If the king has no son at the time of his death and no successor is listed, then the traditional and qualified citizens are to elect the new king with the candidates being the members of the Supreme Office. The Supreme Office is to always have one member for each region in existence. Their sole duty is to override the decisions of the king when these decisions may harm the well-being of the nation. The king is to choose the members of the Supreme Office from any of the district committees. Someone who is chosen may not refuse by punishment of death.).

If you have any other questions, let me know.

And if we had no immigrants, we would have no new citizens. You do, however, have to take a test and qualify for citizenship. If you do not pass, you will be deported to Siberia.

So basically what you did was take the feudal system a century or two before the bubonic plague in Europe, changed the role of the church from religious into some type of high council, combined all this with the idea of separation of power and decided that this would be an appropriate way to run a nation? Sigh

King Atom (100 D)
06 Aug 11 UTC
I have a no muting policy, of course I wouldn't mute you. And I'd be the perfect/only choice for someone to rule this country (not this country as in America, this country as in see above).

Oh, cut the gibber-gabber, you can't even back your words with acts. The most complex system you could rule over is a farm in FarmVille. Which means you would just outperform Warren Harding.

Also, your ideas about government are as shockingly insightful as your evaluation of music. Are they a recent invention or have you simply transfered them from your teenage LOTR spin-off fanfic? By the way, you're obviously not a conservative but a reactionary, you should read some Scruton and not delve only into Burke.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))

seriously Atom lern2paragraph... I couldn't even read that.
King Atom (100 D)
06 Aug 11 UTC
I know I'm a reactionary, I still don't understand why democracy has had any success. And just because I like LOTR, doesn't mean I took anything from it. I came up with this government, because with the right laws and leaders in place, it's unbreakable. You institute the fascist industry and you have the greatest nation to ever exist. And once again, I chose that music because I have a highly critical value of music. There's no way I can prove anything to you over the internet, so go ahead and bitch about me. I could really care less. And the only reason that I don't mute is so I know when people are saying things about me.

Limited freedom is, by definition, *not* freedom at all. If your freedoms can be taken away by the all powerful dictatorial asshole in power, then you have no real freedom.

Yup, no balance of power problem there!
It's amazing to think that all of these cries for attention began with the simple "Game For The Honest" thread less than a month ago. Yes, King Atom, we get it, you were "trolling us", and your several weeks of pretending to be a troll have 100% backed up your original story. Excellent work!

"Someone who is chosen may not refuse by punishment of death."

LOL! Really? Murdering people because they don't do what you want? I think the UN would come down on your country so swiftly and severely that the war against Saddam's regime would look like a small smack on the hands.

If the king selects all those in power that can countermand his orders. Wouldn't a corrupt king simply choose [Supreme Officers] that would agree with him? How is this system unbreakable?

This Time On Philosophy Weekly: Chekhov and Plato Play a String Duet
In his dialogue "Phaedo," Plato's representation of Socrates makes the argument for a human "soul," and states that it's somewhat like a harmony from a harp, that is, representative and yet beyond the actual harp itself. In his short story "Ward No. 6," Chekhov's protagonist, Andrey Yefimitch, muses aloud that a broken violin, far from still being represented by a harmony, is just a heap of rubbish, as it's purely physical, so once broken, that's it. Which maestro's song's truer?
