Any musicians here?
The concert and metal threads got me thinking: Any fellow musicians here? I started playing trumpet when I was 9 years old, moved on to baritone horn in high school, and I've played guitar and written songs for about 13 years.
I know some of you must be musicians. I can tell from playing Diplomacy here that many of you have an excellent sense of timing. :D

Invalid support or Bug in World Diplomacy XI?
I can enter a fleet in SPO to support an army from Mary Byrd Land to Ross Ice shelf, but if I want o save that command I get "Parameter 'fromTerrID' set to invalid value '71'".
Should I report that as a bug?

Gaddafi's Gotta Go?
http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/262702/fog-obfuscation-rich-lowry

So far the Unites States, France, and Britain are limiting their attacks to destroying the Libyan military infrastructure, not aiding the rebels or targeting Gaddafi personally. How long can you be just a little bit interventionist?

Sounds suspiciously like a trade-name for Viagra.
What is it?

Its legality and reliability is suspect at best. I know they are constantly being sued by everyone.
It's a VoIP service. I'm looking for something that will help us make long distance (not international) for cheaper. This one does seem a little sketchy, though.

I've only ever used Ventrilo for VoIP

Why not just use your cellphone and completely cut out your lan line?

Also, you could look into Skype prices.
This is for a business not personal use. We make a lot of phone calls that are long-distance and we do need a real line.

Oh, then MagicJack is a very bad route to go, imho. Especially in a law office.

You could look into Skype still. Your calls would be on a comp, but, honestly, they're higher quality and more comfortable than phones anyway.

I've used Skype for conference calls before. I don't know the pricing, but it was effective for me to talk to people in England and Australia from here in Michigan at the same time.

Skype is very good and free/very cheap. GoToMeeting is also very popular lately if you want calls together with screen-sharing.

MagicJack: I have a friend who got this for her girlfriend in Mexico so the calls would be 'local'. They use it just about every day and like it quite a bit.

I use a Broadvoice line (www.broadvoice.com) in my home/office, and it's been great. I've never had any call quality problems and on the Bring Your Own Device plan I'm on the basic monthly charges are only $5.95 (Plus $5.50 in taxes), and the long distance rates can't be beat ($0.00/minute).

Also, if you're not sure about VoIP, you may want to just think about shopping around for a better Long Distance service instead of going VoIP: http://www.saveonphone.com/ (I can vouch for ECG - I've saved a lot of people a lot of money with them)

Lets have a 1414 D-pts WTA!
I am getting tired of these low-pot WTA games, that break down in CDs , or other scandals..
Lets have a slightly higher pot game this time. You up?

Is there any interest in playing this type of live game:
- 5 mins/phase
- Non-anon (Player's names are visible) and ppsc
- No draws, cancels, or pauses.
(In case of stalemate I like the idea of seeing who can stay on the longest but I would be willing to draw instead if that was what people wanted)

Syrian Protests
The government in Syria has fired on protesters. I severely doubt Syria will degenerate into what Libya is today. Iran/Hezbollah and a strong military will probably cull any protest remaining after Assad's reforms and Western nations are in no place to intervene (nor perhaps will the U.S. want to destabilize an Iraqi/Israeli neighbor, albeit in the U.S. eyes a bad neighbor). What do you all think this will do to the region if anything?
