What's up with 5 and 6 player draws?
Looking at results of finished games I see a fair number of those, and I don't get it. Why not just keep playing? Or if someone CDed, why not cancel instead? With that many players, I just can't imagine a situation where no one has the chance to expand further.

creepiest captha ever!
I just got too captchas from the same site. one was "plz help" and the other was "iAmReal". Is there some kind of innocuous reason for this? or should I organize a search party or something.

LOL! Sounds like the captcha algorithm has suddenly spontaneously developed self awareness.

What site was this? I've decided if I ever put Captcha on a site I build I'm definitely going to do it manually and make it so the words it comes up with are slightly sinister!
Draugnar (0 DX)
22 Mar 11 UTC
Hmmm... That's a great idea for a captcha service. Thematic captchas! Let the sights that subscribe select Light Comedy, Evil, Twisted Comedy, Adult Only, Marvel, DC, Star Trek, Star Wars, Kids, Pets, etc. That way your captcha could reflect your site's personality.

it is "textem" its like a website that lets you text cellphones for "free"
Draugnar (0 DX)

But captcha requires the disguised image and a response. Hardly the same thing as free texting of quotes and stuff to your friends.

@Draug - haha, I love the idea of a Trekkie captcha. It'd be something so obscure only a true fan could answer it, then you wouldn't even have need for user accounts since anyone who could pass the captcha would be allowed in!
Draugnar (0 DX)
23 Mar 11 UTC
Yeah, one word questions with one word response like (and this is easy for non-Trekkies, but still)

Captcha Question: Trouble?
Answer: Tribbles
Sicarius (673 D)
23 Mar 11 UTC
no I'm saying its aite that allows you to send text messages. it requires a captcha for verification before you send it, like on some emails

really though... I mean the help was even in blood red.
I guess leave it to us idealists to find meaning where none exists.
It probably doesnt help that I'm really into codes, ciphers, hidden meanings etc.

but I mean... plz help is pretty clear.
I'm going to be thinking about this for awhile
Dunecat just made my day

using the same site, I also just got
"RUN!"

I've never seen punctuation in a captcha bbefore
Sicarius (673 D)

using refresh to renew the captcha I also just got "inaHOLE", "Rome", and "ThyLie"

seriously... wtf

jesus next I'll probably get longitude and latitude coordinates, and something like 'please god they have been holding me here for months'

Who Am I And Who's Line Is It Anyway?
Ask "yes or no" questions until the identity is guessed, and then the person who guesses correctly takles on an identity and the guessing game begins again (if you're still unclear, look to the title for guidance on how to play this.)

Now, are you ready? (If I said "You Bet Your Life I am!" that'd be too easy to start, huh? OK, I'm thinking of a person...OK, I'm from a play...) ;)

Amazing Game
If you have an hour or so, take it an play this game. It is a marvel of storytelling and conception, and quite thought provoking, the beginning is quite frustrating, but check the walk through to help you, the story is worth the time and effort, I promise.

Help with a video project?
I am putting together a video project, but am having a hard time finding source material. I am looking for revolutionary speeches of the 1960's and 1970's. If anyone can help me out with this I would be grateful.

Turkish response to a Western Triple
Lately, I have come across several Western Triple games.
In many of these, Turkey is aiding the R/I/T Counter-alliance that try to oppose the Western Triple.
I always thought that Turkey should take advantage on a Triple, and gobble his eastern neighbours for all he is worth.... What do you think?

Since diplomacy players are naturally smart...
Can anyone explain to me in practical terms why anything raised to the power of zero is equal to one? I understand that it's very convenient for algebraic reasons, and I kind of understand the logic and reasoning behind it, but I still can't get rid of the idea that, since 2^5 is defined as 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2, that 2^0 should have no definition because there are no numbers actually involved in it. I would have thought that it would fall into the category of zero denominators as non-real...

Champ Tourney ruined by lack of Internet Access-Request Rewind
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=48367&msgCountryID=0

Can a Mod please check into the game? Austria's internet went down and he NMR'd, throwing the game to France. Any way we can have some sort of rewind or do-over? If this was an ordinary game, then oh well, shit happens. But this is supposed to be the Championship Tournament. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
