the person probaly has a very busy life and is not able to long in as frequently as the others. Mite I suggest a live game (5 min turns) or simply a quicker turn length (12, 18 hrs)?

Thanks. I guess we just have to hope someone else takes over then, although I still don't understand why they would do it. But as for the other question, is there a way I could have searched the forum to see if someone else had asked the same thing?

It's tough to do that. There really is no "search", but you can google search it.

If you add site:webdiplomacy.net to a google search, it'll search just this site. Not sure it would really help for this particular question though.

To clarify your situation, a few tidbits:
1. You don't have to Ready (green check mark) if you want the full phase length to expire before moving on to the next phase. If your orders are saved (grey check mark) they will still be processed. There are many reasons to do this.

2. Even if they do not enter orders and it shows red !! next to them, they still might have brought the game up in a webpage and that doesn't count as an NMR (no moves received). That counts as choosing all holds for the orders. If you are in a non-anonymous game, the Last Seen under their name will tell you if they've looked at the game recently or not.

3. As for why someone would join a game and not show up, maybe they were new, joined several games, and then decided they didn't like it and rather than stick it out to not screw up others, they just abandoned their games and the website. Or maybe they got hit by a car and are in a coma. Stuff happens.

4. If it is a non-anonymous game and you can see the Last Seen under their name and it shows it has been more than a phase or two since they've brought this game up in the browser, click on their name to go to their profile and look at when they last logged into the website. If they are showing as active on the website but not active in the game, then maybe they are just a shmuck that abandons games that don't go well right from the start.

if this player has NMR'd from the first move that could ruin the game. If that is the case I would suggest you guys cancel, find another player and restart.

Some noob got hit by a car? That's too bad, i never really knew him but maybe we should hold a memorial for him or something (assuming he's dead) or send a get well card if he survived the wreck.

Maniac, pay attention! The guy's in a coma, he won't be able to read the get-well-soon card, nor will he appreciate the flowers we bought. However, with a little bit of white-out, I can totally re-use the card and the flowers for my mother's birthday!

@gigantor - as i donated more diplomacy points to the flowers, think I should have first dibs on the flowers which will come in handy for mother's day. You can keep the card or we can save it until someone else is hit by a car?
