Fourth rule: Only one account to a person.
Fifth rule: Don't carry stuff from past fights to future fights. One fight at a time, fellas.
Sixth rule: No hacking, no server overloading.
Seventh rule: Fights will go on as long as they have to.
And the eighth and final rule: If this is your first night at webDiplomacy, you have to fight.

I love this thread- I feel as though this site just needs to have a banner at the top explaining how to email the mods or something.

not if it is public press or gunboat. public press must be limited to the global chat tab and gunboat means no press at all.

Vex, do you mean another player within a normal press game? Or do you mean another player on the website that isn't in your particular game? You can certainly talk to other players in normal press games. I'm not sure what others would think of asking other outside webdip users for advice on particular game situations.

If it's a full press, non-anon game, then you can use any means you want to communicate (email, IM, carrier pigeon, number station, smoke signal, etc).

If it is anon, or limited press (or gunboat), then you can only use the com. features that are enabled in-game.

Actually, on second though, even if the game was anon, using a number station would probably be allowed.

@Alderian, that is an interesting question. I would say it is allowed, but that's only based on my feeling, and not on any rule.

When I play an exciting game, I often talk about it with friends, or my girlfriend. I often receive advice on in-game decisions that way. I cannot imagine this is not allowed.

If that is true, what difference does it make if said friend is also subscribed on webdip?

I would guess you could go into the database and edit the last post timestamp to sometime far in the future and then it would be stuck at the top. Until someone else posts in it of course.
