Since some people could leave the site, I'd say the 'auto pause' should have a limit, ie:
24 hour phases
24 hour NMR auto-pause.
So 1 day phases, if someone NMR's, then the auto-pause pauses the game for 1 day, then auto-unpauses and you have an NMR.
Yes, this can be abused, blah blah blah. I want to reiterate that this is an OPTION for a game, and shouldn't be on by default, but for some of us, real life can cause things to happen and the last thing we think of is ("I need to log into webdip to put in orders or request a pause!!!"). If it is a game amongst friends, the only option we have right now is to have a mod force a pause. I'd like to put something in place that at least guaratees an NMR won't change a game.
I think this has the side benefit of helping long running fast turn games. Want a fast turn game, but start late at night and continue in the morning?
15 minute phases, 16 hour nmr-autopause. So you play until someone has to drop out, then pick it back up in the morning.
