God and Sin
I've noticed in a lot of the religiously oriented threads that it comes up (as in "What if God killed himself?") that God, being perfect, cannot do certain things (like kill himself) on the basis that they are sins. I wanted to offer some extended analysis of this contention...

Need to go for 3 days
Hello, I am going to be away from Thursday evening (EST) to Sunday evening (EST) with no access to the internet. Is there someone who is able to babysit my games. I am going to try to get them to pause, but I know that does not always work.

All Rise, Caps Off For April 15th- Jackie Robinson's Anniversary!
Happy Jackie Robinson Day! On this day 63 years ago on April 15th, 1947, Jackie Robinson played his first game (at 1st Base, not his usual 2nd Base) for the Brooklyn Dodgers becoming the first African American to play Major League Baseball, breaking the Color Barrier and starting so much: a round of applause for #42- JACKIE ROBINSON!

Superiority Complexes. They need to die.
I mean really whether it's mac vs pc or ps3 vs xbox or anything like that people always say: "Oh this is so much better than THAT because of this and this and this and you are retarded for THINKING OTHERWISE"
I have nothing personal against Apple but I have a couple friends that constantly go on and on about how a mac is so much better. I've used a mac before and I don't see it.

Favorite Words
My favorite English word is "sleeping dictionary." It means, "a foreign woman with whom a man has a sexual relationship and from whom he learns her language." What are your favorite words?

I've always been fond of Loquacious. I just love the way it sounds. And it would be a word that would never be used to describe me so it has some personal meaning as well. "talking or tending to talk much or freely; talkative; chattering; babbling; garrulous"
Stellar Nursery - a place where stars are born. The Pillars of Creation is a good example.
I take mine back. My favorite word is like. I use it in, like, every sentence.

Has anybody pointed out that "sleeping dictionary" is two words, and neither is individually very interesting? I think you mean your favorite phrase or idiom or even noun clause.

And according to my 6 year old son, Bakugan has no plural. 1 Bakugan, 2 Bakugan. Same with Pokemon.

"sleeping dictionary" is a terrible phase, far too loose - there is probably very little sleeping going on, and who every learnt a language from a dictionary?

A nephew of mine has a "chicionary". It's his 'phone with the numbers of all his chicks.

I like the words mum and dad, particularly when said by my children and bicycle, strangely.

I love widdershins, Octavious. I managed to use it in an essay once, and my teacher was happy I did so and did so correctly. Are you a Discworld fan, too? Or did you pick it up elsewhere?
Octavious (2802 D)
14 Apr 10 UTC
@ Stukus I am indeed a Discworld fan :). Strangely enough it's not where I first came across widdershins. That was in an adventure game book for an old children's TV show called Knightmare (one of the best shows of all time. Kids today don't know what they're missing)

Out of interest, what's your favourite Discworld book? Mine has to be Nightwatch (which recently took over from Small Gods). Got a soft spot for Good Omens too, but it doesn't really count.

Hm, I like Thud! and Going Postal a lot. Those are probably my favorite two, although I love the Watch books in general the most.

Technically speaking, you didn't actually say "What is your favorite ENGLISH word"...

I also like "Menschengeschlecht."
Gonorrhea is a nice word. So is syphillis. An STD I don't like is genital warts. That doesn't sound so nice.

Actually, it is an STI when the virus or bacteria is present, but becomes an STD when the infection becomes a disease and, consequently, an STD when the infected individual begins to show symptoms.
Draugnar (0 DX)
15 Apr 10 UTC
That last may be a little confusing. In short... STI=infection only. STD=disease, i.e. symptoms are present.

Do ghost ratings take into account a difference between press and no press?
I am just wondering if ghost ratings take into account different types of games? I have only played gunboat or public press games on here, simply because of time constraints/internet access issues. However, it occurred to me that the gunboat vs. regular are so totally different games that maybe there should be two different ratings systems.
