"Without" reason? Don't you mean "poor reason"? I obviously had A reason to think they were cheating, just that I wasn't experienced enough to interpret their moves correctly. And if I hadn't posted this, I wouldn't have learned that they weren't cheating.

Agreed, should have said poor reason. I was only so harsh because if every game with this level of 'cheating' had to be analysed by the mods then they would not have any chance to play any games. Apologies if I came across too strong.

that isnt cheating unless somehow they were meta gaming. and to be honest in some gunboat game i have worked together with another person simply by supporting them into a place or holding them

A few pointers for non-messaging games... Cheating is not implied by:

1. Someone not attacking someone else
2. Someone (spookily) supporting another player's move

Perhaps these should be posted as 'questions to ask yourself before reporting potential cheating' to stop every single move in a NM game being reported in future. It is understandable that these actions could be taken by new players to be cheating, however, there needs to be a balance which does not prevent players from reporting actual suspected cheating without spamming the system.

A set of guidelines as to what may actually constitute cheating and to which players must refer prior to reporting such incidents could be useful. Putting this on a screen following pressing of the 'post moderator report' button may be appropriate (?).

If you want cheating look at Germany - Austria - Turkey in this game gameID=23887. That's a good example of blatant cheating rather than just having an alliance with someone.

@Hellenic, did you post the wrong game? Or list the wrong countries? I don't see how you would ever be able to say Germany and Turkey worked together. Plus that game has messaging, so it's not like support moves are evidence. The game didn't end with Turkey patiently letting Austria get 16 SCs, either. What, exactly, is blatant cheating in that game?

Austria/Turkey were cheating. Germany was not.

I posted a mod report. And Germany and Austria were just helping Turkey then all of them left at the same time. I'd had to go so i didn't see what happened til i had a look later and saw the names which i found quite amusing.

Can we PLEASE permanently pin the first post as "What to do if you think you are in a game where cheating is involved"? Don't let anyone reply to it. Just to eliminate these posts popping up every other day.

The whole practice is a pretext to post in the forum and try to communicate outside the game. What would pinning that topic do to discourage that? Just ban some people, they'll learn.

The point is, shadowlurker, here was a post in which a lot of people were saying:

... and you came in and immiediately made a further accusation of cheating. The very thing almost everyone contributing to the thread was agreeing people should NOT do. Thus, you suck.
