Initial Game Parameters

Why is it that there isn’t an option that ‘allows\disallows’ “Political Puppets” from entering games? I think this would curb members from creating multiple accounts or having ‘friends’ join the site only to enter games to create an unfair advantage.

HMS Diplomacy

Everything you say has to be a line/a parody of a line, lyric, or song from a Gilbert and Sullivan song (American Broadway STILL has yet to catch up to them on the comedy side of things... save Les Miserables, THAT'S epic, but based off a French work, so doesn't count.)

Small Webdip Installation for variants...

Now that goondip is no longer and the new goondip will still feature the "old" variant-system I made a small test installation to test my ports for the variants to the new variant-system.

Also it should help people to test their own variants if they provide the necessary data to me.
At the moment I have South-Amerika (4+5 Players) and Hundred running and I will add more during the next week. But most important if you have a map on your own: feel encouraged to make a webdip port and do some playtests on my installation.

It's a webdip 0.97 installation with more variants. I'm not a programmer, so I can't offer the cool features goondip had. But if you are in for variants feel free to join.

He's written several of the maps up into the webDip varient format yes, although the design is not original. Many of these maps have been developed and practiced over years.

I'm sure there is one out there like this, but we always use to play with Russia having the option to start F St. Pete on the North Coast. Sure made England think right from the start.

Oh, well..
Just updated the site and my Internet-connection went down for the whole weekend.
Should work now. Also I installed some more variants. I have so far:
- SouthAmerica 4-players by Erlend Janbu
- SouthAmerica 5-players by Erlend Janbu
- Ancient Mediterranean by Don Hessong
- Milan by John Norris
- Hundred by Andre Schwarz
- Pure by Danny Loeb
- Colonial by Peter Hawes
and the "official-variants" on this site.

@ the.dibster: I'm not a real map developer, just make some "old" maps working with webdiplomacy.
But I really like to spawn some interesting debates about the different variants and how to improve them. I can easily implement some changes to playtest on all the maps. It should be more a sandbox to finetune the variants. Some of them have quite a long history, but that doesn't mean they can't be improved.

I'm not sure Sendlar - I think its a disadvantage to Russia. that would make him so powerful forming early alliances would be very difficult.

Like on this site you needed to search for variants if you want to join them. A bit dull, if most of your games are "variant"-games.
I changed the default-search to include all variants. Should work now.

Survival question

I have noticed that, at the end of games, after the notice pops up about who won the game, that the final disposition of the other powers finalizes. Often, one power is eliminated at the same time as the game is won. It shows 0 SCs and 1 unit, for example, yet it says that this person survived.
