Gnome de Guerre presents "The World is not Enough"
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=19135
As a tribute and continuation of the promisingly-epic game cut short at GoonDip, I have started a new anonymous global-chat-only game on the new world map! I made the ante all the coins I had, which also happens to be my area code. Are you ready to get this party started again?

Switching via convoy
I know there's a rule that 2 units can't switch positions. For example, an army in Sweden can't switch positions with an army in Norway in 1 turn - you have to go to Finland first or StP. But what if there were to be a fleet in Ska? Norway -> Sweden via convoy; Sweden -> Norway. Would that work?

Thank you.

To whoever is kicking my ass....
I wanted to give kudos to whoever is play country X in my anonymous Gunboat game. I haven't played in a few months, and made a couple mistakes, but my hat is off to you for such a well played game. I'd shake your hand if I knew who you were.

Strange Allinaces
I just won a game as Turkey with an Austrian ally (gameID=19188). Have you ever seen any weird alliances before?
Stukus (2126 D)
16 Jan 10 UTC
Well there's only so many alliances. There was that England-France-Germany victory last week or so, though. That was pretty surprising. I think Turkey and Austria work really well if you DMZ the Balkans.

Yeah. Some of them are downright weird. The Turkish Austrian and French English come to mind

france-england is really workable.

especailly if you're willing to let england take brest and leave it unoccupied...

england-germany (germany only building armies, england only fleets)

or parralelled by france-germany (germany only building armies, france only fleets)

Turkey-Italy can be a strong force if turkey stays out of the med... i think there are many possibilities...

Pretty well every alliance can be done, but I think the tripples are the rare ones, particularly where like Stukus says they reach the draw allied. Now I'm not saying this means they played for a draw, more that 3 players got to the draw stage whilst still working together rather than having a 2-1 held at a stalemate.

I had an odd three person alliance the other day that worked out very well: Italy, France, Germany. It was an odd alliance because we were all direct neighbors, but worked out very well.

Yeh, where did France go: England then Scandanavia by sea I guess?

The thing about that game that makes it so interesting, was the fact I offered Turkey an alliance at the beginning. But then I attacked him, as I was allied with Italy. But then Italy believed I was going to ally with Russia (who I had some peace with), and attacked me.

But then me and Turkey allied again and pushed back Italy. So a really odd win, as I thought I was surely dead a few turns into that... :P

I had a nice three way draw as a central powers alliance, (Italy-Austria-Germany) though it was a leauge game so we were trying to avoid early poppy syndrome in our next games...

England was the only country not attacked by two neighbours, and we dealt with last... still nice game.
One of the best ones for me was an alliance between Italy and France.

I had a couple of good showings in Austria-Turkey alliances and once with Russia England and France (of course we stabbed Russia and then forced a draw when he counterattacked).

I had a really fun, but crazy Germany France Russia. Started out as G/F to take down England, then the peace with Russia developed into full cooperation.
