Look at the game maps I was ganged up on by 3 people and I go from there to 16 sc's with one of three ways to win in one season. This game should be over a I should have anoher win and not an extra 10 but 35 which will allow me to play more games.

Second of all, it's a live game, so sorry if people don't feel like waiting for you to come back.

When you comit to a game, you comit to every aspect of it. You comit to playing for wins if its WTA, and you commit to entering moves every 5 minutes and playing it out till the end if it's live.

Unless you had all specified and agreed beforehand, no one is forced to give you a pause in a live game, nor are they forced to keep playing a game in a way that wasn't it's intended meaning.

Did you have fun playing the game? Did you know that you could have won it if you hadn't had to leave?

If both are yes, then what is the problem with drawing, or even cancelling?

I think you were the first to be at fault here, for this and for asking a player in the gamne to enter moves for you.

There were other mistakes by other players, but I really think you did not act right.

I planned to comit to the game but things come up and since I am still under my parents will me playing diplomacy comes last so when I ask for a short pause because something comes up I expect that people will follow through. In the end they paused the game because prober had left aswell. So if they had allowed a short pause there would be no need for it to be paused for more than an hour, and the phase length changed an instead of an paused game that henrytinkler is holding hostage we would have a finished game. Then something or someone votes draw for me!

I understand that, but as abgematch said, this is the point where you say "Something has come up, I can't keep playing this, so we should draw it or cancel it now."

You are not entitled to a pause, especially a one hour pause in a live game. People join a live game to play it straightforward to the end, why should they wait around for an hour for you?

I get your point as well Xapi, but I don't think its unfair for him to ask for one. He didn't get it straight away, but in the end he did - surely that's fair enough?

My point is he's demanding things from both players and mods, and doing the whole "I'm outraged" thing, but he isn't exactly free of sin to cast the first stone.

He can ask for the pause, but he can't demand it.

And drawing a game because you can't keep playing as it was agreed is not to "hand out draws to those who don't deserve it", but realizing that you're the one on fault there.

His options, since the pause was not granted, (it was later paused as a tactic, if I'm not mistaken, so his fellow players are at fault too) were: Draw, Cancel or CD. He isn't "handing out draws" because the fact is that he couldn't win the game for himself, because he couldn't keep playing it.

And, of course, asking a player in the same game to sit for him is adding insult to injury.

Do you not understand that this is an incredibly inconsiderate and selfish (not to mention unrealistic) view to hold in a live game? If you were playing FTF diplomacy at a club and got a call from your mom, would you demand that all players waited for you to get back?

So what's the verdict? Obviously at this point I just want this setteod and done with... The result is up too the mods and kestas...
