I hate all the draws in WTA games... When I first joined this site I pretty much only played PPSC games and I had great success. When I first started playing WTA games, I struggled quite a bit. Now that I've played quite a few WTA games, I struggle quite a bit. If I start to do well in a WTA game, more often than not, alarm bells sound and several others stop everything and jump on a stalemate line, they focus on not playing rather than playing, which frustrates me. The thing that frustrates me the most is that I am unable to learn and figure out how to adjust my own game to have more success in WTA games, but I am digressing quite a bit here.
Anyway, I've played some very serious PPSC games that have been very much fun and extremely challenging. People play more loosely and take more chances, myself included, and I find the dynamic of the games much more fun than WTA. I try to force myself to play WTA games since many claim they are closer to the real game, but in my heart I've never believed that. I agree that both WTA and PPSC fall short, they each have downsides, but each has advantages over the other that can be argued. I'd personally much rather play PPSC than WTA, but what trumps both of them is playing with challenging people that will not NMR or CD. If there's a good group of players in a game, I couldn't care less what format it is...
Sorry for the tired ramblings, my games are a bit slow and I wanted to at least try to stick up for PPSC games a little bit. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if the WTA option was eliminated entirely and all games were PPSC, but that's just me...
