The TMG Masters’ is a new tournament as devised by TheMasterGamer and me. It is a round-robin tournament, with 49 players, each of whom you will play exactly once. Not only does this allow you to meet a maximum number of new people in game, it also provides against meta-gaming better than any other structure.
The Masters’ scoring system is as cut-throat as is possible. A point is won by each solo victory, and nothing for any other result. Then, in the event of a tie, the sum of the scores of defeated opponents (in your solos), followed by the number of draws will be used to determine the positions.
The top two places will be awarded with the chance to play in the 2010 Champions’ Trophy.
Games have 50 hour phaselengths, allowing for plenty of diplomacy. They open every four weeks, starting in September. The bets for each game are 5 , and they are all WTA.
The format requires precisely 49 entrants, so if we have more than that number, they will be chosen on the basis of Ghost-Rating and experience on webdiplomacy, but don’t let that put you off entering, because there aren't that many more than 49 entrants.
