Someone, please explain why I didn't know about

Ghost-Rating Challange - are you good enough?
A couple of months ago, this idea was thrown out there and it resulted in 3 games with some top Ghost Rate players... I'd like to see if there is any interest in starting a few more again. look below for details.

Cambridge University
Does anyone here go to Cambridge university? I want to apply next year so I was looking for advice on what is being looked for and hopefully for a student (or better still a Professor) to put in a good word for me.

that's one of the best schools =) I hope you luck!
I'm applying to harvard, too. if i get in, I'll send you a postcard =D

Anlari, but he's not active now that he's there.
I applied this year and got an offer, but I did really badly in my exams so its very unlikely I'll get in. Ghost's almost certainly going to be applying next year...

At ManorCon - the UK oldest standing tournament... there were typically a Cambridge and an Oxford Diplomacy team. For many years there was a Diplomacy club at Cambridge though I have lost contact with them over the last few years.

My niece got in last year (and another niece three years before that). The interviews were completely different even though both went for the same subject (Economics). One was up for a Coral Scholarship as well - and got it, the interviews for that took four days.

Any advice? Well, the younger niece was shown a headline from a magazine article and asked to say what she thought the article went on to discuss...

And, under no circumstances let someone else tell you what to say or borrow what someone else says is 'good' to write.

Brilliant, Coral Scholarship! Let me try that again: Choral Scholarship.com not CoralScholarship .com, simple.

OMGNSO - Why churchill? My friend had a look round and said it was full of computer science students and the buildings "weren't particularly nice". Oh, I'm also a maths applicant, and whilst it's fair from the hardest I applied for Queens' because I loved the place.

I was at Cambridge between 2002 and 2005, so if you'd like any hints or tips, do let me know - my email address is in my profile. I have to admit though that I did History, so I won't be able to do much more advice than talk about the personal interview (one of 3). As flash said, the most important thing is to be yourself - don't try and be someone you aren't, as it will become painfully obvious once the interview starts.

Cambridge is a lovely university city, though I have to admit Churchill is a bit grim and out of the way.

PS - Ghostie, best of luck - I hope they do let you in!
figlesquidge (2131 D)

They will do. Ghost's better at maths than me, a year younger and I got an offer. Indeed, he'd have to have a very bad interview to fail!
(no pressure :P )

But he did pick Trinity... That's a toughie.

However, he gets my full support, and when he's up there, we can arrange to visit for a face-to-face game in hall. That would be very nice indeed.

Oh, I believe my younger niece (the very very good looking one) is in Churchill. So, it's not all grim.

figle, I appreciate the vote of confidence, but did you have to?
OMGNSO (415 D)

I'm going to open days at both Churchill and Trinity hall so I'll be able to compare them. I'm not one for bothering about decor so I doubt the buildings will bother me much

Anyone following? Who's your money on?
I love watching it, but I have to say I've been a little disappointed with the treatment the organisers have given the Pyrenees. I know they want to keep the race close until the end (penultimate stage on a mountain-brilliant) but even so, these last few days have been rather dull.
