Errrr...why would you forego Holland in order to have a chance of taking Warsaw? Even if you manage to take Warsaw and Holland the year after...I don't see where you go afterwards. The only way to advance would be to have a strong South-Eastern ally, but having one of those drastically cuts spoils to Warsaw, possibly Moscow and that's it.

And you leave yourself too open to England/France.

it can be useful under very specific circumstances... for example if you feel you have a solid EFG western triple... but even in such a case, Den is usually left for England while G takes Hol in 01. though I guess you could let E take hol so G can bounce R in Swe in the fall.

but for this to be useful at all, you have to almost be positive that Russia will open Mos-StP... otherwise its a big waste as you wont get War. you would also want to be sure that either T or A is actually with you.

you CAN hold off an E/F stab if you actually get War/Den... but it will be very tempting for either or both to stab you in 1902 or even 1901... so long-story-short... it is a very risky open and will only succeed if you are an amazing diplomat or if the other players in the game are particularly dumb ;)


the more common and defensable western triple is for G to open:
F Kie - Hol - Bel
A Ber - Kie - Hol
A Mun - Tyl - Ven or s Pie-Ven

while England takes Den/Nwy and France takes Por/Spa and moves his fleet to either WMS or Spa(sc)
