Don't you hate it when...
You masterfully played the game. Now for the epic climax just 3 more SCs, your ally believes everything you said the sucker. You plan a perfect stab and...the next phase is 3 days from now.

A game question
May a player put himself into CD (with I suppose /cd) and then take up another available (and better) position in the game as a different country?

Suppose in a game, you have four sc and a player who has eight sc drops. Can you put your country into CD, drop from the game and then take the other country’s position. Is this legal, is this poor game play, is this cheating?

DIP-3 game paused please!!

please moderators, pause the game!! the russian must be in CD and the turkish player is taking an advantage that adulterate the game. I dont mind in fighthing two countries, but one of them did not play and the other is using it for his own benefit that distort the normal gaming

Calling The Mahatma
Hello! Sorry to anyone else, I'm not after you.
Mahatma, could you drop me a line - I tried your email but didn't get a response.
Before anyone jumps to conclusions, its NOT anything wrong, just trying to ask him a question about one of the games he's in.

Is the "draw" strategy valid?
Some players play to win, others play to gain points. Until recently, I thought of those as WTA and PPSC. In my most recent game, I came across a player that used a "I don't go for wins, I go for draws" strategy. I found myself handcuffed by my history of playing for wins.

I won the first game I ever played. That was in autumn 1912, in a 24 hour game, so ignoring build and retreat phases, and also ignoring the phases that were shorter than 24 hours after everyone finalized, it took me about 576 hours to get my first win

My very first game was FtF as France. I had 7 centers and a huge lead on development on the other players. When we decided to stop it was agreed I had the best position, but this is not a "win." My second game was with Germany, and after gaining 12 centers my friends stopped playing to the same result, again, not a "win."

Being a beginner ticks me off something fierce.

I won my very first game by email which probably led me to further diplomacy. I like things that I'm good at.

It took me a bit longer here, I can't remember which one was first. But I remember my very first game here took over an Italy against a Bugger/Canute Juggernaught and I broke them for a strong second. The memory is quite vivid.

I haven't won one here or on the Judges, but I officialy won my fifth F2F game and was leading when the games broke up in my 2nd and 3rd games. I've had string seconds a number of times over the years, including a gunboat that just finished today. Unfortunately, it was WTA, so I got nothing for my efforts...

After that it was about my 12th

My first game here I won. =)

It also happened to be game ID 100.

After that I more or less won every second game... that is until the competition started getting stiffer... the introduction of the point system and only PPSC really shafted my win record.

yeah, don't get down on yourself, I never win (only once anyway)
I wish the game results would be in chronological order. I think my first win was in my first game started. (I began by taking over a CD country first.) I will say that I defeated Treefarn in a game when he had won his first eight or nine games up to that point. His was an impressive record in my opinion.
Giwald (521 D)

My first FtF games were a total disaster because some of the friends I played with had played it before and already spent a lot of time thinking about strategy.

On this site I think I won my third game. I have to say, though, that the course of all games I played on this site so far have been strongly influenced by early CDs and newbies making silly mistakes.
PirateJack (400 D)

I won in my first or second game, though that was helped greatly by another power going CD so it doesn't really count. Went a few more months of a few second places and numerous defeats/survives before I got my second win and now they seem to be happening more often.
flashman (2274 D(G))

In here? Can't recall but my first face-to-face game gave me a win - we never reached 18 SCs as the remaining opposition reckoned I couldn't be stopped given my position and gracefully surrendered. I was actually on 15 SCs at the time and just about to add to that tally.

It was this that hooked me on the game: we'd drowned ourselves in booze throughout and I was so pleased to have been the equivalent of last man standing.

Old bugs with the game, haven't played this for a while
There were a couple problems with the phpdip adjudicator that went against the rules, I'm trying to remember what they were. There was something with convoying, and being able to dislodge yourself. I haven't played for over a year I think, could someone tell me the status of these bugs? Have they been fixed?
