Anybody up for a VERY FAST game?
I'm looking for a quick game - 1 hour phases, but we will limit the diplomacy time to TEN MINUTES. I want this game to be over within two to three hours MAX. See reply for info.

Multi-Accounters in game Ba - Day
The game is now over (drawn). I strongly suspect two players are one person. The rest of us united to defeat them.

Is there a best practice for reporting multi-accounters?

Don't you just love when games come together?
I have won my second game and am now and experienced-ranked player. By the way the game started out, I thought I would've lost, I fought it out for the big victory!

World War I Senarios
What would have it been like if Germany had won the First World War? Or what if Russia hadn't fallen to communism and the Allies were able to carry out their cynical game of carving up the world in full? What if Germany had rejected the armistice and the German Revolution turned socialist? Huh?

Game shows a player has not made a move but then issues orders anyway.
Have you logged on just before orders are due and noticed a player has not issued orders. You then change your orders because of that. It shows the player has not logged on for an hour or two but they are the only one that hasn't issued orders. The turn goes the full phase time. Then it shows the person DID issue orders. This is the second time it has happened to me. Has it happened to you? Is it common? Should you just assume people have issued orders?

What happened?
Please have a look at this: http://phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=8064 (Autumn 1902 retreats). Shouldn't Russia have kept Rumania, and Austria have bounced?

No.
For a "support hold" to work, the unit being supported needs to hold. Rum was ordered to move to Serb.
paggas (184 D)

Ah, so though failed moves default to hold, support holds are invalidated?
wooooo (926 D)

Failed moves do not default to hold. They bounce back to where the came from. Support hold means just that. Supports a unit not moving.

You can support-hold a unit that is ordered to do anything other than move
trip (696 D(B))

the support holds are invalidated, but failed moves don't default to hold, they simply bounce back to their original position (as long as someone else hasn't captured that position).
It should be said that a unit that is supporting another unit, whether by a Support Hold or a Support Move is not itself moving and can therefore be the target of a Support Hold.

You can also Support Hold a Fleet that is convoying.

Se if a unit tries to move, its original position can be captured with at least two units if the move bounces back, no matter what? (And with one unit if the move is successful, of course.)

Can a land unit support a sea unit that is convoying?
Fidobot (100 D)
18 Jan 09 UTC
Yes. As said before, anything other than move.
Draugnar (0 DX)

Actually, the land unit (army) can NOT support a convoying sea unit (navy). However, a naval unit on a territory can support hold a naval unit convoying at sea.
Draugnar (0 DX)
18 Jan 09 UTC
Units can only support actions in territories to whch they could move, even on support holds. So naval units can't support inland armies despite being on a costal territory and armys can't suport navies at sea.

Support not cut?
http://www.phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=7508
Look at Spain (SC) and Gulf of Lyons. I should have cut the support from the gulf for the attack on spain, causing it to fail - but instead support was not cut and the attack succeeded, and Spain (SC) was dislodged.

Dear Kestas,
I'm writing in for flashman here, as he has forgotten his password and so cannot log on.
Could you please look at the email he has sent you? Thanks

Flashman has forgotten his password, he can't log on. It would be great if you could either pause games or send him a new password.

By convoy by convoy?
Does it bother anyone else that you move from one shore to another "by convoy by convoy" in the finalize orders?

Not really a complaint, I understand Kestas and the Mod-Squad have better things to do with their time, but I was just wondering if I was only on this. Also, is it only certain convoys, or all of them?
