It's obvious right away that there's a jug going on, and England probably wanted to attack France initially (perhaps an alliance between Russia and England was formed) but overall, I'm not that impressed.

Yeah, I'd say this is more of a problem for me than a benefit, since I'm probably going to get crushed in a matter of turns.

This game has been very interesting to me, especially with my limited experience on this site. Before joining, I was used to playing with family, friends, and friends of friends. Some of these guys were the biggest lying, backstabbers you would ever play against. Anyway, when I joined this site, I fully expected everyone to be even worse since I didn't even know any of the people on this site. To my surprise, I went from the "100% honest" guy, to being relatively ruthless at times against players that were largely very trustworthy. By the time my win percentage started to get noticed, I had adjusted my strategy for a relatively honest atmosphere... Then I joined this game and have been treated to the extremely cut-throat competition I had expected when I first joined this site, though unfortunately for me, I have attempted to be relatively trustworthy in this game and have kept my word on every agreement I have made... I have no complaints, what comes around goes around, but I was hoping to disappoint a little less!! ;-)

Hey, for the record, your game was the 11th game I joined on this site... The eighth game I joined was as The MAtRiX and that will be a win shortly, though I know it isn't a win as MadMarx... There are two outstanding games as MadMarx that are far but over, but I am alive and the fat lady hasn't sung on those games, so the jury is still out!! :-)

I think I got to 7 in the first year once, thanks to a terrible Austria.

I think MadMarx made a huge mistake. He played too well, and attracted too much attention. Sometimes it is better to be second once in a while or finish in a draw to avoid that. Now he is going to suffer from paranoid neighbours for a while.

There is another who has an almost perfect record...

I shall not name him, but the curse will surely be attracted to him if he wins but one more game.
