Postal Game

There was a postal game organized on here a couple years ago that I really enjoyed. If there's interest in it doing it again, I'd love to organize one.

Couple weeks for each turn, communication only by postal mail.

Arson = socially progressive

I realized that based on the cultural constraints of the criminal justice system that burning things represents the circle of life. If a forest burns down - it comes back stronger. We burned down Atlanta, it came back way cooler look at the Falcons. We accidentally burned Chicago, now its great. Lets just burn the world.

I hope we get a working opt-out because it's not a mobile version it's a window narrower than 800 pixel version. Looks awful on split screen desktop which is how I usually have WebDiplomacy with the map on the right and the orders on the left.

Is there a way I can view the non-mobile website from my phone's browser? I'd prefer to keep doing that.

Is that what people mean by "opt-out" ?

On vDip Oli developed a settings page choice to let people not use the new site, ATC is looking into how difficult it would be to bring that setting over.

Looks great! Thanks to Executor, Oli and ATC for getting that up and running.

Until the Devs see about adding the opt-out button, one can also generally go into their device's options for the page to "Request Desktop version."

Is there a way the words could start after the name rather than on the left of it? You get a lot of two word lines.

Unfortunately it's not a 5 minute job to pull the vDip opt-out from the history. Anyone with the PHP chops and the time to look at it is welcome to make a pull request.

The relevant vDip commits are linked here -

but, unfortunately they don't merge in nicely. Someone needs to take the time and care to figure out what the relevant bits are, and unfortunately that someone isn't me this Christmas.

Well I just did a big upgrade of the Android s/w on my mobile phone & suddenly things are different on my mobile phone, but also the way WebDiplomacy appears on the phone has changed big time.

Is it not possible to reverse this change until a working solution is available. The request desktop option does nothing on my iPad mini and the 100% width setting makes everything ridiculously wide.

I added a pull request for a toggle switch so people having issues with the new mobile version can turn it off. ATC just needs to a prove it and pull the changes.

Agreed. The mobile site is a net positive gain. Some small things I’d love changed but nothing major enough.

Mostly I would love if the words in posts started after the posters name, there are a few one and two word lines and it just looks gawdy.

For me the mobile site doesn't seem to load at all. I just get the desktop site.

Looks like I can get the mobile layout to load if I switch the browser to private.
I have however cleared the cache and website files for webdip on my device so that really shouldn't make a difference.

There must be some little file it didn't feel like deleting when I cleared out the rest of the files messing things up.

I cleared my cache and now the mobile version works for me. I was having the same problem as damian. I can already tell this is going to be so much easier than how often I had to scroll around the page using the desktop version from my phone.

I want to try it but it's not working, but I don't want to clear my cache or history because I have a lot of stuff saved on my phone I'd rather not have to reenter.

can someone post a push.thingy of what it looks like? I wanna see what I'm missing out on here!

Hey everyone! I made another pull request. This new one will make it so that when you enable desktop mode, you will receive a full legacy experience, basically it will look like nothing has changed.

In the mean time people that are having issues with your cache, a quick Google search on "how to empty cache" + your phones OS will give a lot of guides. Or you can wait 1-3 days for your phone to clear it automatically.

Not having much joy with the enable desktop button or select desktop options on my phone. It's not bad, but it is a step back from the extremely good layout I saw before the changes.

Having said that, most of the negatives are on the forum side, so when the new forum appears they may evaporate.

This one seems to cause a very quick flash of the mobile view on a desktop/laptop when you refresh the forum after a new post has been made since your last refresh, but it's lighting quick, and the site works great on mobile now.

I found a mis-alignment on mobile site with Android Galaxy S7 Edge. When I click notices and reply to a PM the Pm/reply section only uses about 2/3 of screen width.

A discussion on Morality and Virtue (Paladins, Clerics)

What is the difference between a Lawful Good Cleric and a Lawful Good Paladin. Which is more unrelenting in their beliefs? Which is more likely to have sex? Are both bound by vows of celibacy? Are Lawful Good Paladins more likely to engage in religious persecution (ala Knights Templars).
