Starting a new game
Hello! Starting a new game with some friends, but we don't actually want to start the game till next week. But we want to all be registered and in the game. I've made the game but I don't want it to automatically start when we are all in. I've never made a game before, is that what will happen? Or can I leave the game open for a few days before I hit the "start" button?

Thanks!

Trump will die in prison.
Reports today that Mike Flynn, National security advisor, has pled guilty to lying to the FBI and will testify that Donald J Trump ordered him to work with the Russians to sabotage US elections

So, we have the insider's insider singing. Is there any chance that the Trumps avoid long prison terms for espionage and acting as a mole for a foreign power?

How long will it take for Republicans to shake the set nch that they aren't loyal Americans but are fifth columnists for a vicious foreign dictator?

He most likely will pardon himself. Any other president and they would be forced to resign so fast, but somehow we are numed to his ways, and he most likely will not have any action against him. This is the world we live in now.

Flynn was a turncoat democrat. they have nothing from this. all he plead to was a procedural crime. the motivation was purely financial. so sorry ogion but you are making a mountain of a molehill. now on to hillary and jailing bill

So acting corruptly, lying about it is OK if you have a plausible spin that says "it's in a good cause" ?
Personally I don't think Trump will "go to prison" despite the scandals..he's got a proven track record for dodging the consequences of his alleged illegal actions going back to his alleged racially discriminatory practices as a New York landlord.
* the use of allleged is a diplomatic nicety.
In Trump's present position there are plenty of scapegoats he can throw under the bus before he has to take any responsibility.

From what I've read this happened during the transition period after the election, and it was an effort to convince Russia to vote against UN resolution put forth by the Palestinian Authority and other Arab states to blacklist Israeli companies working in the Golan Heights, West Bank and East Jerusalem. That is the vote that Obama and many European nations abstained from, allowing the BDS strategy to destabilize Israel to come to fruition.

@leon, "It turns out that all the Democrats were raging about Trump ordering Flynn to find ways to work with Russia to defeat ISIS"

Be fair, they were raging before that last bit was added.

Lots of people form statements like 'Trump working with Russia...'

Trump says things like 'we're going to do a really great job for you guys'

Both fail to be specific so the audience (who might disagree greatly) can read into the statement what they like.

So democrats are raging at "Trump works with russia to undermine US democracy"
Or "Trump works with Russia to make money drilling arctic oil" or whatever...

Diplomatic relations with Russia have been so bad, i am glad to see some thaw, but if you begin to approach the Russians before you are the legitimate leader of your country, then you may be committing crimes and guilty of acting as a foreign agent. Even if it was 'to fight ISIS'*

*ISIS - great boogie man FYI, awesome that they were supported by US ally Saudi Arabia, the friends of your friends are the most evil thing since... The last demonised thing?

Trump just seemed to admit to obstruction of justice.
He tweeted that Flynn was fired for lying to Pence and the FBI.
Then he asked Comey to not pursue Flynn, while he knew that Flynn lied to the FBI.
When Comey refused to back down, Trump fired him.
Nixon was to be impeached for obstruction of justice.

The Trump crew is accused of violating the Logan Act where a private US citizen engages in acting with a foreign country without government approval. Then lying to government investigators which is another criminal act (What Martha Stewart went to jail). Whether this was to get Russia to meddle in the election or as a reward doesn't matter.

Trump has a history of violating the law. Then using lawyers to delay until he can get a settlement to avoid a guilty plea and/or jail. From housing discrimination while working for his father. Fraud with Trump University and then using his charity to make an illegal campaign donation to the Republican Florida Attorney General's campaign to get the state not to join the lawsuit against him. Doing business with Cuba before Obama lifted the embargo. Making business deals with the Mafia. Renting offices in his building 40 Wall Street to criminals that run fraud schemes to people. Failure to pay companies for work on his properties.

Those are only a few documented examples of Trump's criminal activities that he's avoid. I haven't even gotten into the personal ones Lyin' Donald disputes over his sex crimes.

MajorMitchell (1600 D)
03 Dec 17 UTC
@ ksako8 & Randomizer... And despite all that alleged criminality Trump captured the US Presidency.. So I don't think he will be convicted and go to jail. It might be said that Trump is the most successful criminal the USA has produced.. So far. He's dodged any serious convictions like he dodged military service.
So it might be said that Trump is the most successful Criminal Demagogue from the USA of modern times..like I think Goebbels would admire the way Trump operates. Look at the unwavering support for Trump from his blinkered acolytes.. Like our own lovable ND.. There's no way ND will see any notable faults with Trump. ND appears to be impervious to any criticisms of Trump, ND will, imho, commit the most tortuous convolutions of reason to deny any fault of or errors by Trump and will, imho, deny obvious truth in order to praise Trump.

That is indeed an impressive feat. I am also surprised by the zealous support Trump gets from many of his supporters. No matter what, they will defend him.
MajorMitchell (1600 D)
03 Dec 17 UTC
Well ksako8 there is the comparatively low voting rate in elections in the USA to be considered as well. A candidate like Trump would have a lot more difficulty getting elected in a different country that had a much higher proportion of eligible voters who vote imho.
The "hardcore" Trump supporters are only about 10% to 15% of eligible voters in the USA, but because they are highly motivated to vote and there is a much lower voting rate of other eligible voters in the USA than in many other countries, then that minority translates to about 24% to 28% of actual voters cast..add in the disaffected voters who are disillusioned with the major parties..and Trump cleverly targeted the "rust bucket" States with large numbers of disaffected voters & "voila".. He wins the Presidency despite not winning an absolute majority of actual votes cast, and most definitely not getting anywhere near support from a majority of eligible voters. There are also some curious local factors that disenfranchise voters, generally from disadvantaged socio~economic groups & minorities.
As Capt Brad remarked, the USA is a Republic, not a democracy...so "gaming" the system was an essential part of Trump's election strategy.. And add a little help from his friends, or more accurately Hillary's Russian enemies.
ksako8 (1433 D)

It's funny. USA meddled in 1996 with the elections in Russia and helped Yeltsin to power. Now Russia's done it to USA and it's not ok. Go figure
If you decide the rules of the game, be prepared other will do it aswell
Octavious (2802 D)
03 Dec 17 UTC
Gaming the system (or, to use it's more traditional name, bothering to learn what the rules are) had been an essential part of every election strategy in every election ever. If you believe Clinton didn't try and do the same thing you are forced to conclude she was inept and not suitable for the role.
CAPT Brad (40 DX)
03 Dec 17 UTC
Clinton was inept and not suitable for the role. Either as a candidate. Failed two of three if you include the senate; as a president!?! Recall that the senate was a set up. No real opposition. The throwaway seat just like the current incumbent.
MajorMitchell (1600 D)
03 Dec 17 UTC
I think sw3dg!n that the government of the USA has interfered in the domestic politics and elections of other nations on more than just that one occasion, they're something of a serial offender on that score.
I do agree that Hillary Clinton despite her talents was the wrong candidate to run against Trump. I think that unusually, a strong field of candidates will try out for the Democrats nomination next time..usually because incumbency gives a President seeking re election a significant advantage the strongest challengers wait until they won't have to run against an incumbent President. However I think there is a strong feeling amongst Democrat potential candidates that Trump despite the advantages of incumbency will be a vulnerable President.. Wait & see.
Condescension (10 D)
03 Dec 17 UTC
There's nothing wrong with interfering with another country's elections, necessarily. Espionage is fine.

Allowing and assisting a foreign country with interfering with *your* country's elections is another matter.

Poetry opportunities..?
There used to be great organizations that worked through my school for poetry in youth, but now that I actually have an appreciation for poetry it seems like there aren't as many opportunities to perform or compete with poems.
Is anyone aware of prominent high school poetry organizations?
