Haha. Canada blew off America in the 60s

While I'm disappointed and not surprised in the slightest that all of the JFK files didn't get released, there is still a lot of gold in them.

Our prime minister then (Deifenbaker) allegedly refused to be bullied by America into cutting trade with Cuba and was looking to make some extra bucks off Cuba while no one else traded with them.

The CIA naturally didn't like this and wanted to punish us.
Deifenbaker was a badass.

Canada is pretty much just the 51st state of America in terms of foreign policy tbh.
Less so with Trump in office. Canada's FP has been drifting more towards Europe as of late. The TPP is also probably continuing without the US.

One of the enduring propaganda myths of the Cuban missile crisis is that Russia and Cuba "started the provocation" by placing missiles in Cuba. The truth is that this was a response to the USA putting missiles in Turkey first.
The agreement reached to settle the crisis was that the Russians would remove their missiles from Cuba first, and that after that was done, the USA would remove it's missiles from Turkey, which they did.
Of course it had to be presented to the people of the USA as a victory for JFK so that's how it was publicised, and the removal of the missiles from Turkey was given no publicity by the government of the USA, or that "Liberal" media we hear so much about.

@_Jeff. Great song by a great band, mostly chaps from Winnipeg. Can't seem to remember their band name. Darn it. Can you guess who they was ? LoL.

Canada seems to have a tradition of making a few dollars when the opportunity arises. It's distilleries & breweries did great business during the prohibition in the 1920's.. Most notably a small distillery across the great lakes from Chicago.. Well they were a small distillery at the start of prohibition..Seagram ~~who are one of the larger distillery businesses globally these days..& it was that decade, the 1920's that gave them the opportunity, which they seized, and built themselves up into a major operator and was the basis for their continued growth.

Yeah, the Guess Who were one of the first bands I "discovered" from my parents LP collection. BTO and Rush are also favorites from Canada. And I have a soft spot in my hard for Kim Mitchell too. Go for a Soda got a fair bit of airplay when I lived in New Jersey. Any relation?

Perhaps an extremely distant relative of my player name LoL.. Like Joni Mitchell LoL. I picked MajorMitchell as a player name because it is the name of an Australian Galah...loud and noisy, and in Australian slang a galah is used to describe a "flaming idiot".
But I am a fan of The Guess Who & knew about the BTO connection.

Trump blunders around Asia, returns home to more scandal
Trump blunders around Asia offending allies. Meanwhile Jeff Sessions "cannot remember" what went on at important meetings when "giving evidence". Further evidence of the inadequacy of gun controls in the USA with her another tragic shooting at a School.

What does Bhm. Sea stand for in the modern map version?
In the modern map, there's a territory named Bhm. Sea. What does that stand for? I always assumed Bohemian Sea though that doesn't exist (and the sea isn't close to Bohemia). Perhaps it is Bornholm Sea (after the Danish island in the Baltic in that area)?

Identification Methods
For a story I'm writing, I need an adult who has lost his memory to not be easily identifiable. How do I make this feasible?
For instance, I expect the Dutch government to have the fingerprints of Dutch citizens. Do legal immigrants or people with a refugee status have their fingerprints taken as well? Would illegal immigrants or tourists from countries that don't take fingerprints make for a solid storyline? Are there other options?

Known World 901 - Playable?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm fairly new around here. I'm looking through the variant maps, and I see one that looks like a lot of fun, the Known World 901 map. On the Variants page, it lists it as active, but when I go to create a new game I don't see it as an option to select.

An open discussion about elaborate ways to restore reliability rating
I was thinking how there are members on this site who ruined their Reliability early and can never restore it to the 90th %tile. What if we did a series of experiments on these people. Hook them up to machines. Or perhaps put them in a room full of rats and see if they survive. The goal being we develop a way that someone could go from a 13% RR to a mighty 78%
