(I noticed last SOW that the thread kinda died a bit, maybe we can start something new and have Ogion act as a “Host” and ask questions related to diplomacy if the Profs during the dead times. Maybe things such as “What is your favorite alliance as Russia and why?” ; of course the questions should be posed in such a way that it doesn’t directly correlate to the game. I’m just thinking that players will be busy playing, TAs are busy trying to communicate with their players, and profs are busy writing memoirs every season. So maybe a position which acts to keep the game and conversation going would be beneficial.)

I agree. The amount of users engaged in the forum thread seems to be correlated with the interest level of those involved in the game. I would like to challenge all the SoW players to get involved and ask questions for the study group game when it gets going, and vise-versa: for all the study group players to get involved asking questions in the SoW thread. Not only would it keep interest in both games, but it's also a great way to learn.
At least, when I first (re)joined the site, simply watching the SoW game helped me improve.

So is the SoW suppose to be no in-game messaging?

No, it will have Full Press.

Both games will be created as No-press, and switched to press once countries are reallocated. Otherwise, it becomes really confusing when people start sending press from the country they are not actually supposed to be.

The Moderating team has decided to something a little different with this School of War and Study Group. We have decided that in order to incentivise students and TAs to remain engaged in the game and putting in their best effort, we will offer point rewards to the winners of the two games.
For the regular School of War game, a pot of 600 will be offered for this game. At the end of the game, those 600 points will be distributed to each Great Power according to DSS, the same scoring system in the game. However, not all of this goes to the player. In order to keep the TA engaged as well, the amount distributed to a country will be split in two, with half going to the player and half to the TA.
For the Study Group game, it is similar, except with half the pot, 300 , and no TAs to share in the spoils.
