Rules:
Each character gets influence, attack and search.
Players act as a team, searching surrounding buildings, building barricades, rescuing survivors, managing food and killing zombies.
Players can obtain things by searching the other locations:
Weapons
Fuel
Education
Food
Medicine
Tools
And additional survivors
There is a crisis at the beginning of each phase.
Moving to a location: movement does not count as an action you may move once per phase anywhere. However leaving the colony the GM will always roll to see if you get frostbite, or if you are attacked.
Combat:
To attack a zombie, a survivor or a fellow player you must be in the same location (dont even say it byron lol). Anytime zombies appear in your location the GM rolls for if you are bitten. You may use both actions any phase to attack.
Search: to search a location you will obtain a card from the GM privately. You gain a number of search attempts equal to your characters search level. So for example if your character has a high number such as a 5, you can gain up to a max of 5 cards on any search. I am making this different than the board game in a few aspects. You never fail at searching it is automatic. However the total.amount you gain from a search is maxxed out at your search ability score. So if your score is a 3, and you fimd three items you dont need to use second action to search again.
Build a barricade: you can spend an action boarding up a window or making a barricade.
Playing a card: you can always play a card from your private hand as an action.
Adding cards to crisis: you can add cards to the crisis as an action.
Trading cards: you may trade with any player occupying the same space as you.
Exile a player: means you banish a player to live somewhere else. That player earns a new solo wincon.
Exposure:
The GM will check anytime you move, or anytime a location you are in has a zombie outbreak.
*blank means nothing happened
*wounded means you have 1 wound on you
*frostbite each phase, until removed you gain an additional wound
*bitten: your character is infected, and you become a zombie. The colonists must spend an action killing you.
Death of any survivor or player character loses the colony one morale.
Each phase: you lose 1 food for every 2 survivors and player characters.
Each survivor and character unable to be fed earns you a starvation token.
If you are unable to feed everyone -1 morale for every starvation token.
At each phase end after everyone has moved, and all actions taken the GM will resolve the crisis.
Zombie spawning: at the beginning of each phase, in addition to your crisis, zombies can always potentially appear. Zombies appear in random locations at times, the crisis can place them, and noises like gunshots, broken glass or anything loud can attract them.
Zombies can appear in isolated groups, one at a time or in hordes.
There are six entrances to your colony. If a zombie rushes your colony (the cafeteria) they will always appear at one of the 6 entrances. So try to barricade your colony heavily.
If there are no barricades and a zombie appears at an open entrance they will attack and breach. If no survivors or characters are at the colony then you can allow it to be overrun but you still need somewhere to go.
If zombies appear at nom-colony locations you can also build barricades. Some buildings can only hold so many people.
For the purposes of making this fun we will be playing hardcore variant on your colony objective.
