Steaks Diplomacy Game
Would anyone be interested in a -whoever wins grills- steaks diplomacy game? The notion is that we'd all have a potluck some amount of roasted veggies on a grill, and some ribeyes. We go to a ftf party, then get naked.

How abusive are you comfortable getting in your diplomacy?
I know flies with honey and vinegar and all that. But how fall are you willing to take it to accomplish your diplomatic aims?

Stakes Diplomacy Game
Would anyone be interested in a tent stakes diplomacy game? The notion is that we'd all chicken-wire together some tarps into a tent sitting in the backyard of a trusted party, and fasten it to the ground with tent stakes. The pay-out is that if you solo, everybody else has to sleep out in it at the end of the game, with Krellin visiting the tent to wake y'all up every morning.

Just a thought
I just had a thought on a game where you can't support any of your moves (including support holds). I was thinking this would encourage alliances more and just make for an interesting game

For anyone who's interested here's the info gameID=204910

Has there been an actual WW1 simulation/approximation of Diplomacy?
Meaning orders & outcomes that best represent the events of WW1, which I assume would result in some sort of draw in the end, beginning either 1901 or 1914? I'm sure it's been done, but I'm a curious newbie.

Stakes Diplomacy Game
Would anyone be interested in a cash stakes diplomacy game? The notion is that we'd all wire some amount of money to a trusted party, who would pay it out according to DSS at the end of the game.

If ISIS and Al Qaeda wanted to hold a march calling for death to America and a fundamentalist caliphate to take over the US then any who attack them or inhibit their right to free speech are evil violent people

What do you all think about Faustian stories?
Diplomacy is a great playground for turning on friends for personal advantage, and I'm pretty sure everybody might compromise their held virtues for a little harmless gain in most places of their lives. Do you all think Faustian narratives are on point the more we all trod into the great 21st century, or is the devil obsolete and unversed in the digital age?

That's a good post jmo. I don't see anything very amusing in this proliferation of "jokes" about punching Nazi cats. I understand that Jamiet99uk gets extremely passionate in his criticisms. But there are rules for the forum. WebDiplomacy is a website, privately owned. It's not "free speech USA" ...it's not the "public arena" of any particular Nation State. Now I understand that we don't want to get too pedantic about "threats of violence" in the forum, or in say game press. We have to accept some degree of levity. But in the forum Jamiet99uk has a recent track record for going too far, repeatedly. I want to read "robust but reasonably civilised discussions" in the forum. But let us all be under no illusions, this is not "main Street USA" where there is a Constitutional right to freedom of speech" , it's the WebDiplomacy site forum. If people want to enjoy Constitutionally protected free speech.. Do so on "main Street USA". If you want to participate in forum discussions, then you have to accept the Rules for the forum decided upon by Zultar, (and Kestas?) and accept the authority of the Almighty Mods. That's my opinion.

Hitler has only got one ball
The other is in the Albert Hall
His mother, the dirtagar
Cut it off when he was small

Let us not forget the huge role humour and bad jokes played in the great struggle against Nazis. Let us not forget that many of the generation that defeated them continued to mock them afterwards, and taught their descendants to do the same. For many millions of us it is not disrespectful to tell jokes with a Nazi theme, but quite the reverse. For many it can be considered an act of remembrance.

When is the only time you should smile and wink at a Nazi?

MajorMitchell (1605 D)

That's a fair point Octavious. Referring to political demonstrations.. Ridiculing, satarising political opponents can often be more effective than starting a punch up.
There's a lot of variations of that ditty, the one I vaguely recall went something like this...
Hitler has only one brass ball.
Himmler has two but very small,
Goering ...( I forget this line, and possibly another line)
And Goebbels, has no balls, at all
Octavious (2732 D)

Himmler has something sim'lar rings a bell. But that could be part of a two verse version that I've forgotten... Culture at its finest :)
MajorMitchell (1605 D)

You might be right Octavious..So..
Hitler has only one brass ball,
Goering has two, but very small,
Himmler has something similar,
And Goebbels, has no balls,at all.

Although to be historically accurate, it was Goering who had damaged testicles/wedding tackle. He was shot in the groin in the failed "putsch" when Hitler was arrested, went to jail and write Mein Kampf. Goering went/fled to Italy, where his wounds were "treated" and that's when he became a morphine addict. Later when the Nazis came to power, Goering was involved in one of the earliest occasions that "artificial insemination" was successfully performed with humans. Nazi doctors extracted semen from Goering's damaged genitals, and successfully impregnated his wife. Several times.
Our wonderful forum.. As you say.. Culture at it's finest..LoL.

Leaving the grey arrow
Is there any bigger asshole than the guy who's doomed to defeat and puts in his moves with a grey arrow so that everyone has to wait a day or more each phase? Of course everyone goes out of town sometimes or is unable to get to the site for some reason, but someone who does it faithfully every turn should be banned. It's the behavior of a crybaby.

"if we possess any sort of freedom today in this society, it is the result of all the times people defied and overthrew governments, not because of the times they were obedient. If not for disobedience, we would still be living under the rule of kings."
