Help.
How do you deal with unprovoked verbal violence in a game. I know it isn't against a site rules. But if I mute a player will it mute them in a game thread?

Webdip Conservatives have convinced me my world view is flawed.
I have decided to become a Republican and a Libertarian because the arguments made on this forum have convinced me the Democrat party is no better than the pro-slavery radicals of the 1860's. I have learned that tax cuts for the wealthy, deportations, and putting business and moneymaking ahead of health of US citizenry is paramount

It is always darkest before the dawn
Given the Don Jr. revelations, this might seem like a bleak time for the Republicans, but if they can wait out the media coverage without breaking rank they will be have saved Trump. There is no larger shoe yet to drop and it will be morning in America again.

CNN just reported that Hillary Clinton may have colluded with the government of Sri Lanka to help her win the Election. Also she may have colluded with world powers Borneo, Fiji, and the Maldives.

More on this later but first, heres a picture of a kitty cat.

This whole story is just useless to me. Oh no he met with a Russian Lawyer what's the big deal. Even now it's looking like then AG Lynch let her in without a visa. A private citizen meets with another private citizen from another country. He didn't do anything wrong Trump's right about this a lot of people would jump at this meeting. You think Hillary would've refused this meeting? How do you think she got the whole brither truth we rumor from?

Why do you keep bringing up Hillary... she isnt President. This guy and only this guy is president. And so far hes basically held a super majority and has accomplished nothing worth batting an eye at. Were still at a 19 trillion defecit and they claimed they cared so much about balancing the budget - pfft these morons cant even agree on what color tie mitch mcconnel is wearing. Trump is not leading - he spends more time fuckin off on twitter and griping about his scandals than he does about getting his agendas in the works. By the way. Gonna say it again. Nothing Trump.plans to do would even effect defecit at all. You have to pretty much raise taxes to even try to dent the deficit

Looks like maybe Trump had one of the guys with the dirt on him killed.

And im.assuming since ppl see trump as a businessman that hos job is to improve america fiscally. Im not seeing any evidence of that happening. Job growth in the medical sector is soaring!! (They wanna cap - cut - and gut thst growth by ending ACA - a boon to that field)

The lacking sectors - Manufacturing is way down. - Trump promised to bring that back.

Coal - Trump hasnt done shit for the coal.miners of west virginia who voted him because democrats were ignoring coal as a viable energy. Trump doesnt give a shot either.

Lol
Ogion (3817 D)

Actually, Brainbomb, the CBO suggests that the Trump budget would, in fact, increase the deficit, just like Republican budgets always do.

Ogion (3817 D)

BB, coal isn't a viable energy source no matter how you look at it. expensive, polluting, dangerous. It's pretty much the shit of energy sources, other than, perhaps, burning shit.

The biggest job growth in.america is in healthcare. Jobs that go away once millions lose health insurance. Hospitals will shut down. Rats will fill the streets. People will be eating neckbone sandwiches and talking about magazines

I agree coal is bullshit. But WV voted Trump thinking he would keep promises to bring back coal mining.
JamesYanik (548 D)

@brainbomb

that job growth came from government taxation. it's not naturally occurring job growth, these jobs came off of the backs of taxpayers, and because of this we saw the positive increase in jobs negated by the money being diverted out of other areas of the economy where it would have been spent otherwise. this is why the increasing number of new jobs created under Obama actually created one of the slowest recoveries we've seen in decades. it's because the economy didn't grow, it just shifted, and because the government needed to pay people to oversee the shift, there was a deadweight loss in bureaucratic cost.
JamesYanik (548 D)
14 Jul 17 UTC
but i agree with coal. the market isn't selecting for it, and you have to allow for the cheapest best options to succeed. republicans have failed there
brainbomb (295 D)
14 Jul 17 UTC
Yanik - regardless of if the job growth was stimulated - manufactured - naturally occuring those are high paying jobs that disappear once ACA is gone and thousands of brand news nurses and early healthcare professionals will be without work. There will be budget cuts and layoffs. Hospitals cant keep tons of staff when theres no patients in the lobby.

When nobodys in the lobby more ppl are just going without routine checkups.

More ppl die.

And lost jobs.

JamesYanik (548 D)
14 Jul 17 UTC
@brainbomb

and created jobs.

AND that money people are being forced to spend on those jobs will go to another area of the economy, and jobs will be created there

you're giving only half of the picture Brain, these people only have jobs because of government forcing people to spend money there. yes it's sad that they'll lose their jobs, but why are you not sad about the people who don't have jobs because of the redirected money? where's the tears for those people who are out of jobs?

there are legitimate arguments for single payer, and there's a way to make a single payer system that works, but arguments like this are not going to win people over
JamesYanik (548 D)
14 Jul 17 UTC
you are taking money that would be spent on jobs elsewhere in the economy, and placing it somewhere else. now you're sad that they're allowing the natural order to occur.

if you want single payer then argue for it. this weird argument over WHERE the jobs are doesn't make sense.

The US has nuclear weapons. We got silos and shit all over Montana/ND and SD. Who are we to say that North Dakota is not entitled to secede and have their own nuclear arsenal?

i think we all understand the implications of this: twitter is a digital forum open to the public, but it's also privately operated and it has set rules. the decision on this case is going to have sweeping effects on the internet and internal law alike

Why shouldn't North Korea have a nuclear weapons programme?
The US has nuclear weapons. The UK does. France does. China does. Russia does. Israel probably does. India and Pakistan might also.

Who are we to say that North Korea is not similarly entitled?
