Correct, it's not a measure of how much you agree with other people. Instead, it is a measure of popular leadership.

If a group of users are just +1'ing each other back and forth, then the LM for all members of that "circle-jerk" population doesn't increase. Instead, if one member of the group posts something particularly likeable, the +1's have a one-way flow; and the LM reflects that fact.

I +1 posts I like. I guess I'm a horrible person for that :'(

I've received more +1's than ghug over the course of less posts, but this system would punish me for giving out +1's more generously than him. Nope.

How about take a fraction of +1's given out and add it to total +1's received, if you want to do something math-ish.

Nah, you posted significantly more this last game (in part because you lived two weeks longer than I did and in part because I wasn't incredibly active), but that's not how it is every game, and the sheer number of games I've played outweighs you in any case.

We should also keep in mind that several years of the forum are missing, and that +1s don't necessarily make you likeable (though in my case obviously they're strongly correlated). I declare this system flawed.

@Ogion (and some others): There's a max(0... subexpression, so that your LM is simply 0%. No need to humiliate you further beyond saying that you have no likeability whatsoever.

Regarding the effect of Mafia, I guess it's true that Mafia players are not very likeable people. Of course, I'm not talking about LM now, just the people ;-)

But I like my negative likeability. It actually means I give out a TON of +1s, which I do.

You wouldn't have a negative rating, Ogion. Likes is how many time you have liked other people's, likes is how many people have liked yours. An easy mistake to make though, those really should be renamed for clarity.

Anyone who calculated a negative rating is automatically unlikeable for failing the calculation phase.

Great (i.e., horrible) system for negatively rating those active enough to actually give likes to other posts while rewarding players that never/rarely give out +1s while only receiving them.
If you want to measure likeability, it's really just likes/posts and has nothing to do with likes given. Even then, it punishes posters for making more functional posts unlikely to draw any likes. And yes a "circle-jerk" effort could distort a measure just based on likes/posts. Oh well.

Likes are interesting, but I don't need that validation or really care about the meaningless ratio you are proposing which only shows off the most lopsided forum participants that post and receive likes, but rarely like others' posts.
