Chat history
I really want to review all the messages I sent to someone, but the history logs appear limited. Are they just gone, or is there any way to see the full message logs with a player from a game?

Question concerning game rules (pms)
Hi there! I need a public and official reply by a MODERATOR.
If you play a match without anonymous players, but even without private chat (only team chat): Is it allowed to write the other players private messages in order to negotiate? In my opinion everbody see the names of the other players and everybody can write to the other players, so it is a fair system. It is a very important part of this game to negotiate, you know.
How are the official rules?

Just a question that I have, not too sure if anyone can answer them. I have been pondering how people own the site. I know that you can become part of the Moderator/Admin Team or donate to the site, but how would someone go about purchasing the Web Diplomacy site?

Should Capitol Police protection be extended to all members of Congress?
At the Scalise incident this morning, the Capitol police were present only because Scalise was there. Without them, the shooter would have had a clear field until Alexandria police arrived. Shouldn't the Capitol Police protect EVERY large gathering of Congressmen?

The Last Known World Game
I just finished up the second to last Known World game, http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=187834, on 36 hour phases, which we probably played a few years further than we might have for that honor. This leaves one 10-day phase game in a still relatively early state, http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=187877

@"Issues stemming from nuclear waste on an environmental level are no more scary than... "

Yes they are. You just have to do some surveys, people are scared of nuclear, far more so than they are of coal. You can burn coal in your own home; it isn't this mysterious thing which emits an unseen danger. It just burns like wood or gas.

And sure accidents happen, but not ones which mean you never know where it is safe to go because there might be fallout in your local area.

This isn't about safety or who caused an accident. This is about what happens if you go out and survey some people to see how much they fear nuclear energy.

It is pretty simple. And the majority don't know that coal kills more people (per watt of power produced). They just fear the unseen threat more...

None of your rational arguements have any bearing, because this is an emotional question (of fear) rather than a logical one.

@"Zombies are scarier than coal too Bo. Let's face it, anything that does incremental damage to millions of people gets a free ride in public perception compared to rare events that are scarier, even when the probability of those rare events is near zero. If our brains were wired for complex risk analysis we'd be terrified of cars and coal, and wouldn't care so much about nuclear power or even terrorism."

+100 to that :)

@"As I said before and I will post it again for you numbskulls. Puerto Rico doesn't want to be a state."

No, last vote in 2012 had a 78% turnout (much better than say Trump's election turnout), and 66% of voters were in favour of statehood.

I think that's fairly comprehensive, as far as 'what the people want' goes.

Even taking into account the people who didn't vote, you get 51% of the electorate who actually prefer statehood (considering ~25% of the electorate actually voted for Donald Trump, and he's still claiming to have a mandate from the people).

So even ignoring the 2017 vote, you can see that people wanted statehood last time a vote was had. Ok, it is entirely possible that there has been a huge change in attitudes in Puerto Rico, especially since Trump was elected (maybe now everyone wants independence from Trump... who knows?) But it is also entirely possible that given the apathy of voters (who likely think, 'well we already voted for this 5 years ago, and it did nothing, so why bother voting again) combined with a boycott of the vote, helped make this vote pretty meaningless.

If it doesn't say anything one way or the other, you can still assume the previous vote was fair and valid.

"Just fuck off and don't bother. I'll mute you to save us both the time. If this goes on I'll just get banned again, because I think the world would be better off without you living in it, ND."

"Um. Yea saying we need to purge the world of republicans is the type of facist crap thry dream democrats would say. Dont be that guy jamie. Dont validate such filth"

"The man was wearing running clothes, asked Duncan: "Are those Republicans or Democrats out there practicing?" Per source familiar."

Well, Manwe, looks like some chickens coming home to roost. I'm glad to see an admission that rhetoric kills. We don't know yet who did this, not that it matters a whole lot. It is sorely tempting to say "ooh, if they'd had guns it wouldn't have happened", etc etc. (oh, I thought i was joking but I see stand Paul said precisely this!) maybe this will enlighten these guys a little about the stakes of what they're up to (particularly Scalise) but somehow I doubt it

TRPRADO N1 READS

TrPrado
Night-1 00:27
page 46 Okay, I'm going to try to get this reads list out as quickly as I can

Balduran - NULL. Has posted very little and isn't particularly helpful, but he's not particularly scummy either.

Balki Bartokomous - SLIGHT TOWN. After seeing the ND flip, and then going back and reading his interactions with ND, it looks like he put a decent amount of pressure on him a couple hours before EoD. The closest thing to suspect I see of him is the way he jumped on trying to clear Cerryn at the start of the night.

Cerrynity - SLIGHT SCUM. Only time he and ND interacted was with ND throwing him a softball. ND suggested Cerryn post reads but never pressured him or pushed him for it. Cerryn still has very few reads.

DemonOverlord - SUPER TOWN. When she first saw someone quote the Oztra case, she questioned who it was that said it. When she learned it was ND, that's when she decided to jump on him. Everything about her ND push seems very genuine.

Ezio - SLIGHT TOWN. He seems very genuine in his posts.

ghug - SCUM. Tried to actively save ND at the very end by making snowy and y2k the leading wagons. Also only ever spoke about ND indirectly despite being a prolific poster who got up in the faces of many players.

Hellenic Riot - SCUM. His snowy push was half-hearted at best. Also advocated directly against the ND wagon. Also, I find it very interesting that the only time he mentioned ghug at any point was in the following quote:
"I concur that ND is a better player than ghug"

Ikaneko - SLIGHT SCUM. Came out of nowhere. At no point did he express any concern about ND or his case against Oztra until EoD. Interactions with ghug at EoD could have been scum attempts to coordinate the vote, perhaps.

Jamiet99uk/teacon7 - SCUM. Jamie never put pressure on ND at any point. He was a prolific poster, and even claimed to have ND as a scumread, but the only question he ever asked ND was about reads that weren't snowy or Oztra, and at EoD actively advocated against the ND wagon. Essentially contradictory.

MoscowFleet/brainbomb - TOWN. Moscow didn't have much going on when he was here, but brain's performance has been that of a scumhunter who really does seem to want to solve the game. Puts decent pressure on other players.

Oztra - TOWN. Doesn't participate much, but I don't think there's any way for him to be scum. After ND's push on him and how flimsy that case was, I just can't picture it.

peterlund - TOWN. Used to think he was scum, but I don't think he'd be as vocal about pushing my wagon as he was if he were scum.

rdrivera2005 - TOWN. I disagree with a lot of what he posts, but I don't see anything scummy about him.

snowy801 - TOWN. He seems really dedicated to catching scum. He's an active part of the conversation.

Tom Bombadil - TOWN. When he's around he knows how to apply pressure to get the best answers out of people. His interactions with ND

VashtaNeurotic - NULL. Same as Balduran

y2kjbl - TOWN. Essentially I don't see him and ghug being scum together, and I don't see ghug as anything other than scum. He was turned into a lynch candidate at the very end specifically because ghug wanted to create a wagon to take heat off ND. Hasn't posted for a very long time so I'm assuming he could genuinely be gone.

If I had to pick out the remaining scum now it'd be:
ghug
HR
Ika
teacon

-----

Lists Balki as town- y2k as town
And says all 3 PR are scum plus clear cerry was his scumread way back then. Hes tunneled cerry all game off and on.

Conditions for going CD
I am in a game gameID=[199096] that has just reached Spring 6. Someone has taken over Greece after it went into CD (so far, so good) but what I don't understand is that there were no missed orders. I thought there had to be a couple of periods NMR before CD.

Can anyone explain what has happened?
