Should Jared Kushner security clearance be suspended?
http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/335243-dnc-suspend-kushner-security-clearance-amid-fbi-scrutiny

The DNC, for political purposes obviously, wants to suspend Jared Kushner's security clearance. What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason by Jared secretly met with the CEO from VEB, the Russian state-owned bank.

Senator Warren:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htX2usfqMEs

Here is an example of a Democratic Party Leader, Senator, and possible 2020 candidate who told business owners that they don’t own their own business. She demeaned business owners and her policies would hurt small business owners.

Support for the prosecution of Climate Change deniers:
You can do a simple google search and see that there are a lot of articles about this. Now, obviously, it has not been enacted. However, it is a proposed and talked about policy in Democratic circles. If enacted this policy would be an infringement on the American first amendment. It is essentially the prosecution of anyone who doesn’t share their values or mindset. It’s sicko stuff.

Climate Change in General:
The Democratic Party has an unhealthy obsession with climate change. In the 2015-6 DNC debates Sanders and Clinton both tied climate change to terrorism and the Syrian Civil: http://www.factcheck.org/2015/11/sanders-on-climate-link-to-terrorism/ (one article). Al Gore has claimed that ‘climate change’ caused Brexit: http://www.independent.co.uk/environment/brexit-climate-change-al-gore-says-global-warming-syria-war-helped-leave-vote-a7645866.html. Now, any rational person would dismiss these statements. Obviously the Syrian Civil War was caused by domestic policies, Assad, the Arab Spring, terrorism by a hatred of the west and radicalism, etc. Other Democratic policies like cap and tax (failed during the Obama years) would have further wrecked the U.S. economy and hurt business owners. See a correlation here? Now, we can debate the merits of climate change all day long, but these policies and statements are rooted in far-left thought that hurts business and diverts the true reasons for the Syrian Civil War, Brexit, and terrorism.

2nd Amendment:
The support of gun control laws that would weaken American’s rights to defend themselves and also erase a constitutional protection for Americans to own a firearm. This is in direct contradiction to the constitution (much like prosecution of climate change deniers which is contradictory to the first amendment): http://www.redstate.com/diary/stridentconservative/2016/07/12/democrat-party-platform-looks-void-second-amendment/

No support border security:
Insanity, like other parts of their platform. They don’t want border security like the border wall or enforcement of U.S. immigration laws.

Single payer health care:
Want to destroy private health care systems and have one government health care system. This is something that socialist (far-left) nations have. https://www.democrats.org/party-platform#universal-health

We can go on and on. This is just a small sampling of policies that want to dismantle the constitution which guarantees basic freedoms to all Americans and how some of their polices are far-left. I could provide dozens upon dozens of additional examples.
ND (879 D)
26 May 17 UTC
Ogion thinks that California seceding from the country is perfectly normal. That should /end this debate. It's far-left talk about leaving the country. The last time the Democrats tried this it was a five year war. I see Democrats are trying to do it again.
Ogion (3817 D)
26 May 17 UTC
No, actually, no rational person would deny the link between climate change and the Syrian war, because they're closely linked. Indeed, the obsession with climate change is rational, and given the genocide level consequences of it, I'd say there's a solid moral case for persecuting climate change deniers frankly, just as there's a solid case for persecuting others who would do massive harm, like Nazis or drug traffickers.

And of course, rational people want single payer because it has been proven to deliver better results for a LOT less money. Only right wing nut cases want otherwise.

And the border security canard is plain false, but then conservatives don't deal in reality. And you understand basically nothing about the constitution, which isn't surprising, so you don't understand either the first or second amendments.

SamWest (100 D)
26 May 17 UTC
@Ogion I live in Alabama and you're right that it's a shithole. But a majority of people in this state didn't vote for Trump, counting the 33 percent who voted Democrat and the 38 percent who didn't vote at all. We're all getting ground into powder by the GOP here and it's not because the majority of people are voting for that. Most people are demoralized, cynical and unorganized. And I don't think the attitude that the "better" parts of the country should secede is going to do anything to help people here, who are for the most part victims of the contemptible politics of the Republican party.

I get being frustrated about our stupid President, but I don't think the women, people of color, lgbt folks and workers in places like Alabama and Kansas should get screwed because an organized minority votes for assholes. Frankly, I think that's a pretty bad attitude.
ND (879 D)
26 May 17 UTC
This is why you are a far left fringe group:

1) Willing to throw out freedom of speech rights for an issue you think is true. Climate change has little to absolutely nothing to do with Syria or terrorism.
2) Socialization of major industries
3) no real response to border security because you don't care
4) Want a state to leave the union

Far-left fringe stuff. Not mainstream political thought. And, you wonder why you are losing thousand upon thousands of state legislatures, mayors, governors, and Democrats in the House and Senate? Lol, so sad Ogion.
ND (879 D)
26 May 17 UTC
Alabama is a great state. What are you talking about? Much better than loony wacko California.
SamWest (100 D)
26 May 17 UTC
@ ND
Yeah... okay, I think gun control and climate change there's a fair difference between Democrats and Republicans. I wouldn't call Democrats "far left" on either. For one thing, the Republican Party is the only major political party in the world that denies climate change.

On of immigration, I don't think a majority of Americans support a border wall. Majority voted against it.

On healthcare/the economy, polling consistently shows Americans people want more government intervention and social services. So I think you're dead wrong about that.

Democrats started losing when they gave up on expanding the social safety net and embraced neoliberal policies. The party brass under DWS was pretty corrupt and incompetent, and Tom Perez isn't much better. Would rather embrace big donors than working people. So that's my perspective on why they're doing bad.

I appreciate you engaging with me though.

Okay but despite the crap your saying simple gallup data proves you wrong.

1) if you ask people if they identify as liberal or whatever sure they do claim to be center right.

2) if you ask.about issues this is where it gets unique.
-people arent against gay marriage
- people like raising minimum wage
- people want affordable healthcare
- people want lower taxes
-people dont want war
- people dont like obamacare
- people do like ACA? (Lmfao)
-people claim to be libertarian
- people dont vote libertarian
-people want free college
- people dont wanna pay for anyone else to have cheaper tuition
-people support womens rights and equal pay

(Majority of these issues point to the country being moderate left but ashamed and scared to admit to being such when asked if they are)

Brainbomb is exactly right. It depends on how you define your terms.Majorities want greater distribution of wealth, think the rich and big corporations pay too much in taxes, oppose austerity cuts to social security and medicaid, and want greater government intervention in healthcare.

The GOP economic agenda is extremely unpopular. This is why you see GOP representatives getting yelled at in town halls even in conservative parts of the country. Unless you think they're all paid soros agents or something.

What i consider radical on each side, and where i stand:
----------------------------------------
Climate Change:

Left: complete overhaul of fossil fuels, for a purely subsidized or government controlled implementation of solar, wind and hydroelectric power

Right: what? that shit isn't real.

ME: Nuclear energy wins out on the free market. move in that direction?
----------------------------------------
Gun Control:

Left: Take them all, blanket gun ban

Right: Tanks orderable on amazon, along with high-grade weaponry and ammunition.

ME: Allow for a populous to be as armed as up to the point where they could rebel any case of military occupation (whether foreign or domestic)
----------------------------------------
Immigration:

Left: Borders are a social construct, but not the kind that we like, the kind that we et pissed and are going to mace old people in the face about.

Right: When I order McDonald's they better understand me the first time

ME: Overhaul on immigration so that high-skilled laborers can get in faster, and that security checked and vetted refugees can get in (regardless of religion). Variable restrictions on other immigration, with quotas proportional to the current job growth, as to create neither a surplus nor a shortage.
----------------------------------------
Freedom of Speech / Freedom of Press:

Left: it offends me and should be banned / is important part of society

Right: is important part of society / it offends me and should be banned

ME: offensiveness doesn't matter, it's all allowed except for inciting violence / libel and slander
----------------------------------------
Healthcare:

Left: screw the cost, just raise taxes. fully socialized, here we come!

Right: what if we could make it so it's government regulated, expensive, AND poor people can't get it???

ME: taking money from others should be minimized as much as possible, and we need stronger community efforts for this. however, if a community wants to live in a socialized fashion: let them. but to solve the Macro problem of expensive healthcare: make drugs and medical equipment cheaper by removing costly regulation, and replace it with extreme liability laws for bad drugs.
----------------------------------------
Military:

Left not during war: look at all these horrible human rights violations around us.
Left during war: we're terrible people and should feel ashamed.

Right not during war: hey guys, wanna start a war?
Right during war: now since we're at war... let me call my good friend Halliburton.

ME: We can't use the UN as a standard of what to do. they're weak. we need to stop paying so much for the national defense of countries who are in currently perpetual peace. Israel Ukraine, Japan and South Korea are the 4 main countries we should focus resources on.

Clearly the middle east has issues, many of which are our fault. The solution to this is not creating more problems. If we get attacked, we need precision strikes, but not drone-style genocide

For non-political action, don't forget the founders gave us the ability to create a letter of marque and reprisal, where nowadays we could allow private individuals within those countries to take action, which we would compensate them for. Complete public transparency on this issue, no exceptions.

Economic embargos and attacks are also extremely effective, but the only ally i'm truly comfortable behind is Israel, and even they aren't perfect, although Palestine's charter to destroy them isn't exactly deescalating that situation.

The South China Sea is a weird situation, where we have no vested claims, but are arbitrarily trying to stop China from pushing out the claims of smaller countries on these islands. This is as non-imperialist as we can get, and we're still being intrusive pricks. if only there were Nations, that were United, who could moderate this fairly... oh. damnit UN.

Once there was a hungry hungry Russia, and he ate up part of Ukraine near the Crimean River, BUT HE WAS STILL HUNGRY. Russia's claims to that part of Ukraine are somewhat legitimate. their method of throwing armed forces at the Ukrainians and killing many isn not a legitimate form of argumentation. If only there were Nations, that were United, who could moderate this fairly... oh. damnit U... TWICE NOW????

sidenote: we didn't invade Iraq for oil, we stayed in Iraq for too long because of oil.
----------------------------------------

Anyways, that's where i see the FAR LEFT and FAR RIGHT. not the MAINSTREAM, but FAR sides of each ideology.

as to the proportion of Democrats that are leaning FAR LEFT and the proportions of Republicans that are leaning FAR RIGHT, i think it's more even, the millennial generation is much more far left, but recent polls show a Large conservative contingency among youths nowadays. youths are naturally more radical, but i'd need more specific polling to make a solid statement on that matter.

Also I'm eating chocolate ice cream right now.

@SamWest

"It's funny arguing with conservatives because they can never make up their minds if the public are smart and wise and abused by the coastal elites or if they're greedy welfare baby cretins suckling at the teat of big government"

what an amazing straw man. most conservatives think the public like free stuff, but don't question enough of the time where exactly all that free stuff comes from.

the split comes where people either

A. decide that their principles don't support taking from others, even to their own benefit, and so that they should be more conservative
B. decide that their principles support taking from others, because of the social benefits, and so that they should be more liberal
C. decide that everything is subjective and we should all be under marxist rule.

i'm a part-time liberal. i believe a good end-goal is a system of checks and balances more secure and concretely defined, while the populous remains as free as possible. the short term goals are to not let society collapse

i.e. we need a minimum wage to prevent wage crashes when the labor force exceeds job growth, but the Macro argument is we need to control immigration and remove job regulation, so that we have a healthy wage market.

Why is Terrorism the only time people feel a visceral response?
I noticed recently there was an incident where a man crashed his car into multiple people injuring many and killing someone. But because it was not terrorism, people did not seem motivated in the same manner against alcoholism as they would have if he were a terrorist. If he had indeed been from any Muslim country at all, and also under the influence of alcohol, one has to wonder if people would just automatically assume it was a terror plot.
