And of course you advocate criminalizing drinking. America's justice system isn't overloaded enough by the failed war on drugs, I agree. People don't make enough of a mockery of unenforceable regulation as it is. Organized crime doesn't have enough of a market. Let's reenact a constitutional amendment so bad the American public actually saw fit to repeal it. I'm sure nothing will go wrong.

Prohibition didn't work in the first place, just as bans on drugs don't work now. That would make alcoholism a crime instead of an issue requiring treatment. I am totally behind far, far stiffer penalties for DUI and crimes committed while intoxicated (cough rape cough), but bans don't work.

And no, krellin, wherever you are, I have never suggested we ban guns.

It would be nice if American culture weren't so obsessed with alcohol. Glad tobacco use is on the decline at least.

Just because it's difficult to enforce the law doesn't mean we shouldn't try and should give in to criminals. Democracy is founded upon law and order. Why don't we just
end the war on terror and just let ISIS create its own country? After all, it's impossible to get rid of all terrorists. The law is founded upon what is right, not what is enforceable.

As far as I know, American culture is individualism and being able to completely ignore things that you don't want to think about. Does that have its negatives? Absolutely. It breeds ignorance. But I don't want to think about the fucking Kardashians, so they don't pervade my life.

also putting this out there, repealing the 18th amendment will be just like marijuana, increase local economies, spur crime, lower tax intake (from as statistics will show the lower class consuming so much alcohol) and all in all increase the quality of the beer.

So the only downside is more profitability in crime. The rest sounds good for the consumer, no more giant beer companies putting piss in a jar
