INB4 the mod team was separately discussing a need to bring on another staffer to handle the modding load all along, sees this thread and promotes Vash on the spot.

I'd like to second Vash's application and would suggest we make him our night shift manager which due to the global reach of webDip may require him to work during the day.

Oh, I've noticed. This was a very clever way of getting +1s. Well done. You are well on your way to modhood. I haven't decided whether I should endorse this or not since there is apparently a best-mod contest... and I wouldn't be much of a bureaucrat if I don't decide things based on a popularity contest. :)

@Vashta you've made half a case for why you should be a mod. You've given us a list of accolades to look over, things you have donde as a simple member.

What you need to complete the pitch are issues that you plan to deal with as a mod. Wil you be looking for multis? Censoring hate speech from the forums? Are you a programmer interested in working on the site code? Do you want to help organize events such as tournaments and school of war?

Without a platform including both your past achievements AND future goals as a mod, I cannot in good conscience give my +1.

@Jamiet: You know, that perfectly sums up how I feel about becoming a mod.

@stupidfighter: I am so glad you are interested in hearing what I plan to focus on upon becoming a mod. As you know, the job of the moderators is ensuring that the diplomacy experience is friendly, inviting and enjoyable for new and existing members. My main form of this will be searching for multis, as I enjoy a good hunt, especially when I am looking for wrongdoers. I will especially enjoy finding the "bearnsteins" or the higher level cheaters, as I love good detective work, and the banning of such people will make the gaming part of this fine site much more peaceful. While I do like the mostly free speech we have on this site, I am not opposed to the censoring hate speech on the forum, as I believe the forum has become a lot nicer since zultar (praise be unto his name) has focused on such moderation. Unfortunately, I have little to no programming experience, so until I take a couple Comp Sci courses, I will not be helpful in that department.
However, I am very interested in increasing the overal quality of gameplay on this site, and what better way than through practice. As such I will hope to help organize tournaments and events like the school of war. I would also like (with their permission of course) to have events where a couple of the mods will offer an open challenge to people on the forum to play diplomacy (and these will be very special considering that mods have less time to play diplomacy while modding). This will of course be in addition to my efforts to enhance enjoyment of the site through my various "late night ideas", writing WebDip fanfics (I have a few ideas) and playing in and GMing mafia games. I hope these goals are sufficient for your liking, and the liking of others on the site, and prove that I will a very competent and beneficial moderator when the time comes.
