Slow full press wta game
Unfortunately my real life keeps interfering with my diplomacy games. Therefore I am looking for 6 more players who would be willing to play a slow 72hrs/turn game.

Meta Gaming
I got a message from a mod accusing me of meta gaming (even though I have never done so), with a warning that I would be punished if I do not respond in three days. I responded almost immediately, but two days later, still have not yet heard back from the mod. Am I at risk of having my account banned while I wait for the mod to respond? I am at a critical juncture in multiple games right now, so that would be really bad. Thanks to anyone who responds.

Confused about defaulting to defend
I'm new to this, and am curious-- under what circumstances does a unit that is programmed to move, support hold, or support move NOT do what it's programmed to do, but rather revert to defending itself?

Help please?
I thought this occurred whenever a unit was attacked-- it would automatically be forced to defend itself. But now I'm wondering if it is only under the circumstance of the unit being attacked AND no other territory is supporting that unit commensurate to its attack(ers)?

If your unit fails to support hold or support move, it's because you don't have enough Diplokemon badges.
KingCyrus (511 D)

It will lose the support it is giving if:
a.) The unit (A) is attacked UNLESS it is attacked by the unit (B) residing in a territory which the unit (A) is supporting another unit (C) to.
b.) The unit which the support was giving to moves (in cases of support holds)
c.) The unit which the support was giving to does not move to the designated territory (in cases of support moves)

A unit that is directly attacked always defaults to self-defence - this cuts any "support hold" it is giving. However, a fleet ordered to convoy will still convoy unless it is attacked with enough strength to force it to retreat.
Okay. But in the "Help Section" it says:

"Also; if a unit is being attacked it has to defend itself by holding, and can't support another unit."

I interpreted this as saying if a unit is being attacked, it HAS to defend itself. I guess I am just wrong.

Also, nice catching the Lost reference.

To answer your question, several factors can effect the outcome of a move. Supports can be cut if another unit attempts to enter the space of the unit giving support. For example, if French A Paris supports A Gascony to Burgundy, and if German A Picardy moves to Paris, that unit's support is cut.

If you have a specific question regarding an ongoing game, please do not post in the forum and email the mods at [email protected]. Alternatively, you can pose an example scenario to explain your confusion with specifics.

A unit ordered to move will always move.
A unit ordred to support hold or support move will be canceled and revert to a standard hold if attacked.
A unit ordered to convoy will always convoyed unless dislodged.

If a unit is ordered to support a move or hold and it is attacked, it will revert to a hold and defend itself.

If a unit is ordered to attack, it cannot revert to a hold, but it will still defend itself with strength of 1.

If you order unit A to attack and for unit BB to support a hold of unit A, the hold order for unit B will not correspond (since A is attacking, not holding) and be canceled, even if unit A is forced to defend itself.

... Unless it is attacked by the unit in the territory to which it is supporting.

In the case of French A Paris support French A Marseilles to Burgundy. The German A in Burgundy attacks Paris, but does not cut the support.
Alright, here is an example scenario. There are two territories, A and B that someone wants to protect that border two aggressor territories X and Y.

If A support holds B and B support holds A, does that ensure that neither can be taken? Because presumably if X and Y both go after A, then A defaults to defending itself and along with B's support, holds (and vice-versa if X and Y both go for B).

If A, B, X, and Y are the only units applicable to this scenario, then yes, neither unit can be dislodged.
Valis2501 (2850 D(G))

Correct. It would take three units to dislodge two units support holding each other. (one unit to disrupt any support, the other two to dislodge the other)
That covers it. Thank you!

It seems clear that people called "oscarjd74" are seriously over-represented on this forum. There are around 100% too many of them.

What can we do to address this serious imbalance?

What's an Enemy?
I found that enemies are most enemies that aren't interested in the interests of other friends' enemies and most people are not people that I would make as an enemy because it takes a friend to make an Enemy with interests like those of your enemy. I always hang out with enemies but never with my enemies because our interests are the same.

So what's this thread anyway?
