Kazakhstan on the Modern II Map
Er. The Caspian Sea works as an ocean spot, correct? And Kazakhstan is adjacent to it.
Why can't I convoy to Kazakhstan then? I can convoy to Caucasus, Volga, etc. but not Kazakhstan. Even with a fleet in the Caspian, moving an army from Iran to Kazakhstan works without asking for "via land" or "via convoy".

Is this a known error/glitch/bug?

The Great Pot Debate
No, not another de-criminalisation thread.
Just a suggestion that, for replacement players, the contribution of points to the 'pot' should be abated by the amount of the defaulting player's initial contribution. So, with an original bet size of, say, 40, a 6-SC power would cost just 24 to take over, while a 3-SC power would cost nothing.
This would provide an incentive for substitutes to come forward.

Can someone explain to me, why people cheat. If you cheat and win, did you really win? If your accomplishment is not on your own merits, what did you accomplish? This game is a great learning vehicle, what reward is there for cheating?

I just noticed that I've spent the last two months on the overall top-100 GR list. I joined about a year-and-a-half ago, so it's taken a while (I only play full-press games, usually with long phases), but it's pretty sweet.

Congratulations, me.

I'm not confused - I asked a question - is there a problem with that? It was pretty straight forward, jmo. If Zultar wishes to answer, he may. I'm curious if that is a new policy/standard we are supposed to try to adhere to regarding derailing threads - and my question in in reply to a post in the thread.

Having my own personal mod/bully telling me to shut up for asking a question was a curious response, though. Rather disappointing, really...

Unlike many other sites, we don't silence or delete posts that derail threads. I never said that it was a rule. I merely stated an opinion that what their bickering was derailing Murray's thread and maybe they should stop as Murray probably did not intend or want this to be a bickering thread between two individuals.

You, krellin, however, chose to interpret my post as a "site rule violation" warning or whatever because that's what you have continually chosen to do. The vast majority of people on the site and on the forum have no issues with following site rules or understanding that the rules we spelled out cannot and are not meant to cover every instance but they work when people are being reasonable. When you were silenced, the forum functioned very well and we received very good feedback about it. When you were unsilenced, then forum became an *issue* again and you continued to ask what *rules* there are. There are also ridiculous claims you made and sent to either me or the mods.

At almost every turn, you have made or tried to make work for the mods. The vast majority of people on the site have figured that out and I doubt the community think you have the community's interest at heart. There is no good faith to be had with you. Please excuse jmo if he got exasperated at your *question* particularly after your exchanges with him in the mod email.

So, please don't pretend that you respect the community, the site, the mods, or me or Kestas, or that you have our good interest in your heart.

Gee jmo - you are so clever. We are all impressed. And see...how I addressed you there...you can tell because I directed it at you that you received all the respect that you deserve.

Zultar - oooooo-kay. Yes, I'm the worst ever, etc etc. Got it. All is evil, yadda yadda yadda. I'm actually Satan incarnate. I'm sorry if I bruised your ego and scratched some inhumanly thin skin, blah blah blah But no....given the various changes in the site over the past month, it is **wholly** possible that you would decide to start punishing people for derailing a topic --- so it was actually a legitimate question. blah blah blah. I'm sure you and jmo both feel very tough and masculine now for beating up on krellin again. huzzah huzzah and all that.

Goddamn, what in the hell do you find so entertaining about fucking with us? People don't like douchebags, so don't be a douchebag. It's not funny, it's plain stupid, and, in all honesty, I cannot wait until the higher-ups get tired of your bullshit and kick you out of here. Thank the stars every night you go to bed that I'm not in charge because it would have been done long ago.

How am I "wasting the mods time"? I didn't email the mods and require any time of them? I posed a question in a forum. It was not required to be answered, and the answer *could* have taken as little as 5 seconds. That is has taken longer is a choice not made by me. Further - the forums are *full* of "nonsense". Give me a break. The only one wasting your time here is you, by your choice. Let's cut the drama, now, shall we. It's unbecoming, and unnecessary. We get it - I've insulted you privately, and you refuse to accept apologies, and now you and jmo are going to chase me around and email me and tell me to shut up or leave. Got it. But I'm not doing anything offensive, so you can give it a rest.
krellin (80 DX)
30 Aug 14 UTC
Got it Bo....cool rant. That was fun, I'm sure. I asked a simple question, the mods ranted in reply. This is my fault? They could also have simply ignored it. Your piling on ---- helps how?

Yeah, you asked a simple question, krellin. That's all you did.

Take jmo's advice and shut up.

- bo_sox48, casual webDip user who would like to make note that you aren't the only one who doesn't treat me like an equal let alone a mod so I have no inclination to act like one around you, and I guess I have to sign that I'm speaking as a casual user in every post I make to you because they're only going to get worse

@Krellin, basically everything you've done tonight offends me and wastes my time. A_Tin_Can is kindly sparing several hours of his time to help me make a testing environment for this site which will allow both him and I to more efficiently get site improvements set. But I have to take time out to watch your thread posts show a clear lack of respect for a site owner, who you were clearly baiting. Not to mention your abusive and disrespectful ranting at other members via pm that can only be described as vulger. So for you to sit here on the forum and act like you are trying to behave, or making an effort is 100% bullshit and a massive disservice to every single person on this site as it's taking away from site improvement time.
Ogion (3817 D)

If fyou don't like Krellin's posts or think he is wasting your time, muting is always a very good option.
krellin (80 DX)
30 Aug 14 UTC
Ranting at a member via PM? You mean the member that PM'ed me first? And then got angry because I disagreed with him? I didn't know I wasn't allowed to answer a PM from someone? Odd...

And if I have done something in this thread that violates a rule, please let me know. I asked a simple question in a forum thread, and you all act like it's something much larger. My question could *also* have been ignored...since it was simply a post in a forum thread. This whole rant is....weird...and a little sad.

I didn't know you were required to monitor every post I make. That's interesting...
murraysheroes (526 D(B))

Shoot, this turned into a whole thing. I just intended a little shameless self-promotion. On a related note, if you're ever looking for a solid, reliable player...
zultar (4180 DMod(P))
30 Aug 14 UTC
This is a waste of time for everyone.
Ogion, unfortunately, mods cannot or should not mute people since they have to respond to PMs and part of their work is to moderate the forum, which includes things like cheating accusations.

You asked a question and you got a bunch of responses, krellin. If you have any more questions concerning site rules from now on, please email the mods and not on the forum any more since it creates a mess and you can't seem to understand that the community is fed up with your nonsense and don't want to see it, particularly when it comes to "understanding the rules."

Mods, please don't interact with krellin on the forum anymore. If communication is needed, use the mod email.

I would also encourage other users to do the same.
krellin (80 DX)
30 Aug 14 UTC
"Mods, please don't interact with krellin on the forum anymore."

THANK YOU. That was easy.
krellin (80 DX)
30 Aug 14 UTC
Funny thing is, I didn't need "a bunch of response". I needed a simple "Yes" or "No" to a yes or no questions. So who was wasting who's time? lol Wow. Nor do I perceive that "the community" is fed up with me...since I have 14 WebDip members in a fantasy football league, and have had various conversations at various times in past days that were perfectly well and good. The drama...the drama..it's quite uncalled for.

I'm with krellin on this one. I mean, what the fuck?
First of all, krellin may have been controversial before, but in this thread, he's being bitched at by mods and a site owner and he's taking the high road. That alone makes me say well done krellin and shame on the mods and site owner, and I do think the latter should apologise but I guess that would be too sensible.

When I was asked to stop advertising by a site owner, it wasn't signed '-Site owner', so I should ignore it, right? That's what you're saying, right? He was "merely sharing" his "opinion", right? I'm sure zultar is aware that his requests are taken quite a bit more seriously since he's a site owner, BECAUSE he is a site owner asking you to stop doing something. How does one know whether he's just 'sharing his opinion' (are we really going to pretend that? Ok..) that you should stop doing something or when he's asking nicely but will punish you if you don't do what he says? Because he didn't sign it? So I'm guessing this post in this thread was just from a fellow member as well:

"Let me make this clear to you if my posts before, here and elsewhere, have not:

If you can't figure out how to stop wasting the mods' time or my time, you are not welcome here and you need to find another site to play and spew your nonsense."

If he isn't asking as a site owner, he should make that very clear with a nice disclaimer. Apparently that's not neccessary because it goes without saying that he's just a fellow member when his message isn't signed though, so on that note: €3/month now!

Either you make it very clear, or you don't later come with the excuse that you were 'posting as a member', or we get to use that excuse too.

(I hope kestas understands that I'm just trying to make a point that I think really needs to be made with the second to last sentence. I'm not trying to disrespect or oppose him because he's actually a pretty nice guy. If he thinks I am doing that, I apologise in advance.)

Mahmoud Abbas: Hamas to Blame for the Prolongation of the War
http://news.yahoo.com/palestinian-leader-hamas-caused-prolonged-war-142407698.html ""It was possible for us to avoid all of that, 2,000 martyrs, 10,000 injured, 50,000 houses (destroyed)," Abbas told Palestine TV in remarks broadcast Friday. He said Hamas had insisted on discussing demands first before ending the war, which only served to prolong the violence needlessly." 1. How "unified" is a Palestinian govt. that blames its own and 2. When their leader *himself* blames Hamas...
