Kazakhstan on the Modern II Map
Er. The Caspian Sea works as an ocean spot, correct? And Kazakhstan is adjacent to it.
Why can't I convoy to Kazakhstan then? I can convoy to Caucasus, Volga, etc. but not Kazakhstan. Even with a fleet in the Caspian, moving an army from Iran to Kazakhstan works without asking for "via land" or "via convoy".

Is this a known error/glitch/bug?

The Great Pot Debate
No, not another de-criminalisation thread.
Just a suggestion that, for replacement players, the contribution of points to the 'pot' should be abated by the amount of the defaulting player's initial contribution. So, with an original bet size of, say, 40, a 6-SC power would cost just 24 to take over, while a 3-SC power would cost nothing.
This would provide an incentive for substitutes to come forward.

Mahmoud Abbas: Hamas to Blame for the Prolongation of the War
http://news.yahoo.com/palestinian-leader-hamas-caused-prolonged-war-142407698.html ""It was possible for us to avoid all of that, 2,000 martyrs, 10,000 injured, 50,000 houses (destroyed)," Abbas told Palestine TV in remarks broadcast Friday. He said Hamas had insisted on discussing demands first before ending the war, which only served to prolong the violence needlessly." 1. How "unified" is a Palestinian govt. that blames its own and 2. Don't panic Mr Cameron .... just keep calm and carry on
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-28967904
Cameron is so arrogant he won't change but today it was announced that net migration to the UK was 243,000 last year, Cameron has promised 50,000. He and his Old Etonian cronies seem to be the only people that don't realize there is a problem ..... he talks tough but acts like a pussy !!

Tory MP Douglas Carswell has defected to the UK Independence Party and will stand down as MP for Clacton to seek re-election in a by-election.

If he wins the by-election he will be the first UKIP MP to take a seat in Westminster.

He made his surprise announcement at a news conference in central London.

Mr Carswell told journalists: "Principle in politics is more important than the career of an individual MP, even when that MP happens to be me."

"The problem is that many of those at the top of the Conservative Party are simply not on our side. They aren't serious about the change that Britain so desperately needs.

"Of course they talk the talk before elections. They say what they feel they must say to get our support... but on so many issues - on modernising our politics, on the recall of MPs, on controlling our borders on less government, on bank reform, on cutting public debt, on an EU referendum - they never actually make it happen."

On Mr Cameron's pledge of an in/out EU referendum on 2017, after renegotiating powers back from Brussels, he said the prime minister's advisers had "made it clear that they're looking to cut a deal that gives them just enough to persuade enough voters to vote to stay in".

He added: "Once I realised that, my position in the Conservative Party became untenable."

Cheer up, Nigs. You're sounding like someone whose bet all his points on a gunboat and got Austria!

Amazing thread, this. I leave for only a month and when I get back you're singing from the UKIP hymn book! There are only two sure solutions to this problem that would be effective in the short term. The UKIP solution of leaving the EU, or the Labour solution of breaking the economy so no one wants to come here. Which one are you proposing, or do you have your own? If so do tell. :).
NigeeBaby (100 D(G))
28 Aug 14 UTC
Ouch .... that gunboat comment hurts, are you privy to info that other forum members don't have, if so, shhhhh!!

I'm not making the news on this UKIP story, seems like Cameron is sprinkling his pixie magic dust around his party, I can't help but get the impression he is becoming a bit of a laughing stock amongst his political colleagues and once they lose the by-election back-benchers will be calling for his head.
Anybody who things jumping into bed politically with Nick Clegg deserves all that is coming to them and today it has been revealed that Cameron does not want to leave Europe, he is a two-faced hypocrite desperate to cling on to power, spinning out of control, it is all going pear mate, just like I predicted.
Your prediction is UKIP will get 10% in the General Election, I predict 18%, bye bye Cameron, bye bye Clegg.

Nigs, I have been telling you this for years. How did I know? Because Cameron keeps saying it. Dear God, man, just because you finally grasp that one of the things you invent about someone you don't like isn't true doesn't make them two faced :p.

Still, you forget to say how you'd solve this immigration problem. Do tell

There you go, Nigs, Jamie's solution is to say it isn't a problem. Nice and simple and consistent with his beliefs. I strongly disagree, of course, but that hardly matters

One option is to create an island using empty soda bottles, lash it to the mainland using ropes, and put immigrants on the island for the period of 1 year. If they cause problems, then cut the rope and let em sail to another land. If they're good, upstanding citizens, pull the island to shore and let 'em board.

@ Tru Ninja

You seem to be working on the basis that upstanding citizens would be wanted. The core of the British immigration argument is not that immigrants are bad people, but that they the current high numbers causes problems we'd rather do without.

NigeeBaby - What's the problem with more immigrants?
NigeeBaby (100 D(G))
29 Aug 14 UTC
The issue for me is not the number of immigrants but the lack of border controls, a lot of people enter the Uk for one purpose e.g. 2-year student visa and then once in the country we have lost visibility of them so we have a lot of people in the country who should have applied for leave to stay or renewed their visa or went home.
This is a bit different from the right-wing view that more Johnny Foreigner in country, country going to dogs, therefore to make things better get Johnny Foreigner out of country unless unless he is independently wealthy, then let him stay. If we get 2 million out of country the 2 million unemployed will now be employed because we have 2 million more jobs that Johnny Foreigner had ..... it is economics for idiots. For some on the right it is simpler that that, they are just racist.
tendmote (100 D(B))
29 Aug 14 UTC
"This is a bit different from the right-wing view..."

Ah, so you can advocate a policy that is to the right of most American Republicans because your heart is pure?

I don't think you'll actually find many mainstream right-wingers actually saying "Johnny Foreigner in country, country going to dogs," they're arguments are the same as what you're making.
NigeeBaby (100 D(G))
29 Aug 14 UTC
No tendmote because I am talking out immigration controls and not immigration restrictions which is what Cameron is promising the hard right and failing spectacularly to deliver .... if you don't understand the difference I can explain further until the penny drops.
tendmote (100 D(B))
29 Aug 14 UTC
I think I know the difference, but can you clarify? In any case I think you have begun subconsciously empathizing with conservatives, but we shall see.

And Nigee here shows exactly why Labour is just so morally and intellectually bankrupt now.
NigeeBaby (100 D(G))
29 Aug 14 UTC
"I think you have begun subconsciously empathizing with conservatives"
I do empathize with the Conservatives because ultimately we both want good things for Britain, but their actions are tinted by petty-minded bigotry and a real feeling that their education makes them not only smarter but a better judge of what the country needs, I was always taught that 'pride goes before a fall', something I feel Cameron is going to learn a little later in life ..... but learn he will, better late than never I say.

Mendax .... who are you you little weasel, say something half interesting or intelligent and we can discuss like normal folk do.
mendax (321 D)
29 Aug 14 UTC
You are playing into xenophobia and racism; though you are not making openly racist comments this is the atmosphere that you are making use of. This is not what Labour, originally a progressive party, should be about.
Jamiet99uk (1307 D)

@NigeeBaby: "The issue for me is not the number of immigrants but the lack of border controls."

Then why did your OP bang on about the number of immigrants?
Octavious (2732 D)
29 Aug 14 UTC
The number of immigrants is a big problem. High numbers are an enemy of integration, cause significant difficulties with infrastructure, are a driver for low wages, and add to environmental pressures. The difficulties suffered by the home nations of the immigrants should also be considered, although rarely are. High levels of immigration is not a good idea.

NigeeBaby (100 D(G))
29 Aug 14 UTC
"You are playing into xenophobia and racism; though you are not making openly racist comments this is the atmosphere that you are making use of."
Mendax you are right I am talking about these subjects, pretending he doesn't like foreigners is one of Camerons favourite policies because he tries to appease his right wingers by talking tough on immigration, but even though he talks tough he actually has no effective policy on managing immigration, Labour were also useless at immigration controls when in power.
It is obviously proving tough for the main parties to tackle this subject, hence the rise of UKIP to fill the gap.
The reason why the OP talks about this is because it is a key govt policy that has gone spectacularly wrong.
Octavious (2732 D)
29 Aug 14 UTC
It's not so much of a key policy, Nigs. It was a back up in case the economy didn't work as well as it did. As you know there is very little a government can do about immigration aside from leaving the EU. If the economic recovery had failed immigration would have fallen and Cameron could at least point to low numbers of immigrants as a success. The economy has done well so immigration is up, but Cameron hopes that because the economy is doing well people won't care too much.

Judging by how low the immigration figures were on the BBCs list of popular news stories, he's quite right.
Putin33 (111 D)

It's your Nazi friends who are doing the murdering.
