I have a question: if I am playing as Germany, what's the best way to attack Austria without being killed by England and France?

I just care for the new guys nobody gave me a break when I started and nobody helped me either I had to learn the hard way. Some people need to ask questions and they need to be answered I'm just trying to be nice to them. I mean people will get mad if they don't know how everything works and that could lead to them not playing at all. I'm trying to prevent that. I just want to give them some knowledge about the game that's it nothing else.

I was recently playing England in a FTF game. I was allied with Germany and was planning to stab France. However, Germany was also planning to stab me. Here is my scenario:

I ordered A Lon to Bel convoyed by F ENG.

France supported F ENG with F Bel.

Germany supported his F Bre - ENG with his F MAO.

We were not sure how to adjudicate this move. The ultimate decision was to bounce everything and nobody gets anything, but should that be the case? Did I cut my own support in Belgium and allow Germany to take the Channel?

Well 1 your not new dude 2 your a mod and 3 its not those kind of questions I'm not giving tips on how to win its just like somebody ask me earlier in a a game on how you can support move your forces he didn't understand how that worked.

That's a good one, 2WL. I agree with the decision, but it would be tougher if you threw in an additional English unit in Holland supporting Lon-Bel.

I don't think the support from Hol would make a difference, THM. The question is whether the convoyed army cuts its own support and allows Germany to take the Channel.

My thinking: EC either is dislodged or it isn't. If it's not dislodged, the convoy should succeed. In your original scenario, Lon-Bel isn't sufficient to dislodge Bel, so there's a standoff and the attacking unit remains in its original position (a situation covered in the rulebook, minus the French attack).

With my addition to the hypothetical, there now is support to dislodge Bel. If EC is not dislodged and the convoy is effective, does the supported attack on Bel succeed? And if so, then does the rule kick in that Bel (as a dislodged unit) gives no effective support?
