A player and friend was mistakenly banned from the game I created for no apparent reason. The game is http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=141372#gamePanel .

Hail to the Redskins?
http://washington.cbslocal.com/2014/06/10/minute-long-change-the-mascot-ad-to-air-nationally-during-game-3-of-nba-finals/ The commercial in there will be aired in seven major markets (including Washington) during Game 3 of the NBA Finals. We've had the discussion before...but since we can all use a break from the seemingly-weekly reminders of school shootings (one today in Oregon)--1. Think they SHOULD change the name and 2. WILL the name be change soon?

If you're looking for some extra games, there's lots of good games needing to be taken over right now. gameID=142371 is a solo opportunity with some maneuvering. I just picked up three myself, but there are lots more.

I have noticed that at a certain point, you can no longer go back to older PMs and things that were sent to you. Can you go back and find these, or are they deleted? If you can go back, can someone tell me how to do that?

"Mission Accomplished'...err..I mean "On the Run"
Remember when Awesome Obama told us, like 32 different time that al Queda was “decimated” and “on the run”. I guess he was a fortune teller and foresaw their current mad dash to Baghdad… (And you thought Bush's "Mission Accomplished" was so naughty...tsk tsk...)

A good friend of mine's mom diagnosed with lung cancer,
total medical bill came up to 80k, and he's trying to raise that along with trying to pay off his already expensive college tuition. Anything helps, even if you just pass it along to other friends to spread the word, or keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. Here's hoping you get some time to enjoy it before the kids start asking for money...or rides...or to borrow the car. Or anything else that we are usually only good for.

Thank you.

Mrs mapleleaf and the brood are taking me out for brunch. It's a beautiful morning. We've just had our provincial election, and we've elected the Liberal Party to a majority government, totally rejecting "Tea Party Tim" Hudak and his Conservative Party.

Oh, and the leader of the Ontario Liberals is a 61 year old lesbian, Kathleen Wynne. I believe, the first elected lesbian Head of Government ANYWHERE. Am I right? I'm curious about this; I'm really not 100% sure.

Our prime minister here in Luxembourg is gay. Does that count - do we make a difference between female and male homosexuals?
Or the more important question: is the fact of being hetero-, bi-, homo-, or asexual of any importance in a governmental election of a "free and civilized" country? I don't care about a politicians sexual orientation as long as I agree with his political programm and actions.

oh, and btw. thanks for the happy father's day

WTF? Back on track, Happy Dad's Day to all the dads out there! I wonder what my four legged little boys got me Father's Day? The wife hasn't given it to me yet.
steephie22 (182 D(S))
15 Jun 14 UTC
... I'm confused by what Draugnar just said. I would explain why, but I'm too confused.
Draugnar (0 DX)
15 Jun 14 UTC
I don't have human children, steephie. We have four legged children (dogs and rabbits and lizards) so Father's Day for me is whatever the wife buys and says is from the dogs. Same thing with Mother's Day, I but Peg something and say the dog's gave it to her.

"as long as I agree with his political programm and actions"

So your politicians have to be men?
steephie22 (182 D(S))
15 Jun 14 UTC
I already drew the conclusion that you meant four-legged children rather than four children who are legged. My confusion was because 1) you're getting something, since, well...
And 2) I wasn't sure wether you meant an actual gift that wasn't actually from your animals or something actually from your animals that can't really be considered an actual gift. A heap of shit for instance.

Thanks for clearing that up :)

Also, didn't know you have dogs! I'm hoping 'proper' dogs but for whatever reason I'm guessing small dogs... Did I guess right?

Also, maple, maybe the first publicly-known lesbian although even that might not be true, but I doubt the first lesbian...

@Draug, "he" is still a gender neutral pronoun. Blame thousands of years of sexism if you want (you probably should, what the fuck Anglo-Saxons), but don't misconstrue English that is technically correct.

And Happy Father's day!
Draugnar (0 DX)
15 Jun 14 UTC
She is the new he is gender neutral pronouns. Has been for several years.

As to dogs. We have longhair dachshunds. You can say they aren't roper dogs if you like, but you've never seem a dachshund kill before. Ain't a badger, rag on, or possum around wants to mess with these guys.
ghug (5068 D(B))
15 Jun 14 UTC
"She is the new he." People have started to use "she" more, but that doesn't make it the new "he." "He" is perfectly correct and technically moreso than "she."

Draug, you make these typing mistakes and correct them and think it's fine. When I do it, English must be my second language? Seems kind of funny. Thx again for the Father's Day wishes though.

""as long as I agree with his political programm and actions"

English is not my first language, but I guess you understood what I wanted to say

... actually ... I also do not care about his or her sexual orientation if I do not agree with his or her political program and actions ;-)

@Theo - It may be the autocorrect, but the misspellings are all my arthritic thumbs. The phone is a Nokia Lumia 928. Hardly an old phone. But my arthritic thumbs miss if I go to fast on the soft touch screen keyboard.

Just spent the day in a golf outing with my Dad and daughters (and wife and Mom), and then came home to serve dinner to the in-laws...lovely day.

And now....I'm ready for them to all GO HOME...so I can just be alone with my family and enjoy The Empire Strikes Back....where dear old Luke learns of his Father.

Yes. MY oldest daughter cried the first time she watched Star Wars - Jedi when Darth Vader died. She was probably about 5, and she knew the the "Dark Gator" was Luke's father and had turned good just before he died saving Luke. She's been a fan every since.

Republicans Filibuster Bill to Ease Student Loan Debt--Thanks, Krellin!
http://www.nwprogressive.org/weblog/2014/06/republicans-predictably-filibuster-elizabeth-warrens-bill-to-ease-student-loan-debt.html Thank you, krellin, for supporting this Party of the People...because as a country that's now seeing unprecedented amounts of student debt crushing students and parents ALIKE, aid was the LAST thing we needed! The Republican Party--they sure know how to Just Say No (except when it comes to protecting a women's right to say that, of course.)
