oh, it's just that I've been posting in those religious threads
& I have to show a bit of respect and "no blasphemy" which is fine with me,
but it's good to have a different thread where a bit of blasphemy is OK.
Yes Tom Hardy plays the lead role in Lawless, the Bondurant brother that gets
his throat cut, but survives. Most of Tom Hardy's acting roles have been a similar type of character, eg the slow thinking "sussex oxen" type of chap who doesn't say much.
I find it quite "wooden", in his earlier roles it was like he was playing a slow thinking semi confused half wit & not much seems to have changed.
I must be an old fuddy duddy, eg one of my favourite films for various reasons is
"My Fair Lady" with Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison--- Audrey is a talented actor, beautiful and sooooo spankable & Rex was a top quality stage actor as well as films.
If I think of modern actors the Johnny Depp is, in my opinion, a huge talent, you cannot really pigeon hole him as a certain "type" of character actor, Robert Downey Jnr& Jude Law really make the Sherlock Holmes / Dr Watson "odd couple" dynamic soar.
