I don't think he should get a free pass (no one should). But it's hard to read him on D1 (the same is valid for you and me to be honest). People who are usually logic and controlled are hard to get a read on D1 and are hardly an early lynch.
Fair enough, sure. let's not rule it out. Who do you think would be a good information lynch rn?
I don't know, information lynch is a bit vague. I don't think we should aim for "informational lynch", just aim for who we think are scum and later we get information looking wagons, votes, etc.
I agree with you. Mine is a thought experiment. With so little to go on, D1 often gets decided by... unreasonable methods. We don't have to lynch this guy, but I'm asking your opinion on: Whose flip will provide the best information?

As for EP's IRL meta: he's smart. Very very very smart. And slimey. Don't trust him.

Imo, it's perfectly valid to lynch someone on D1 because their playstyle.
What playstyles are worth lynching right?

Also, can you give us insight on durga's meta here on the forum vs. f2f? We're clearly discussing meta from past games. Don't end out of game friendships or anything, but it's a lynching game and if you've got useful insights we'd all benefit.
For the playstyles worth lynching, see my response to rdr around page 10-15 (sorry I can't check easily - I'm on mobile now). Tl;dr: players who are not being useful are worth lynching over players who are not.

I see you've responded to my other post on Durga's play.. I'll get to that in a sec.

Please note that I'm on mobile so I can't really flesh things out as much as I'd like (ie. Lists, references to posts, etc..). Happy to go into more detail once I'm home this evening.

@vapor imo we should figure out the d1 lynch before talking about anything else. what do you think of bozo?

@espresso - Discussion of outside meta is clearly allowed, though there's little way for us to verify its truth. What do you think of durga's play so far?
(be honest, it's for science)
She plays a very aggressive town/liberal/village play in most games. That being said, she also has a strong fascist/mad/WW game and has managed to carry teams to victory.

I don't know how she normally plays in forums, but my advice is the same when playing with any experienced player... Never fully trust them unless they've been completely cleared, and watch out for buddying.

I'm sure she can give you guys some insight into my gameplay as well.
heh, crosspost. sorry.

What's the difference between an "aggressive" town game vs a "strong" maf game?
Her aggressive town play: lots of interrogation, call-outs on faulty logic, and arguments with conviction. Always participates in discussion.

Strong maf play: good at fanning the fire when the town is confused. Very good at manipulating and buddying with ppl w/o them noticing.

Quoting this for the "unreasonable methods" bit. This is kind of what I was getting at on post #491. We don't have a lot to go on D1, so we have to rely on perceived usefulness of playstyles and such.

I was asked to comment on Durga's f2f playstyle. In a sense, f2f is almost like an alternate reality to forums. It's very possible her playstyle is different here.

it's possible, but part of the game is reading into the psychology. I think it'd be different, but with some significant crossover.

And I am answering that I think we can't know beforehand which flip will provide best info. The most info is A) lynching a scum, then B)lynching someone that can give info about others alignments. I fail to see how we can know who can be the best B choice at D1, so we have to focus on A.

I am doing this from phone so it won't be meaty
Town (order of likely top to bottom)
Bozo
MoscowFleet
Rd
Percy
Teacon

Null or NAI
Einstein
Xorxes:
Vapor:
Vashta:

Scum
Durga
Damo
Espresso

That's my gradiant. Bozo, Moscow, Rd, Percy have all made good posts. Teacon too has tried to engage and drive town convo. I rate this as very pro town. Nulls:. Einstein started scummy but has gotten better. Vapor has been mixed. Xorxes did lie or forget which is against his meta and hasn't done much which suggests a step back into the shadows that isn't pro town. Vashta total nai needs to be watched.

Reading this in ISO makes Percy look like he's made of teflon. he'll read and politely comment, but what has he really... done? anything?

Polite is good. I'm a fan of that. let's try to lynch each other politely. But I'd like to see more from him.

Excellent content from Espresso and Vash. Townread both.

Also liking the content from Moscow and town leaning.

Fairly confident Durga is town.

Percy not so sure about.

Like to hear more from einstein and xorxes.

Bozo his usual logical self. Impossible to guess his alignment.

rdr moved to null.

ND subject of next post.
On phone, but I need to say this. Can someone please check my read of bozo from last game (when we were both scum) and put it next to damo's read of bozo here.

Damo, if you are scum with bozo I will have to sue you for copyright.
What I find more notable about these reads is that they are all fairly generic and not likely to encourage anyone to vote for him. damo is still my top scum suspect.

ND likes to change styles from game to game but when he's like this he's scum.

##vote ND
I have looked into this further and I can't find any game that this conclusion could be based on, am I missing something?
Couldn't quote specific game(s), just going from memory.
It is possible you are thinking about the second half of M39, but I do not think you would assume the way he is playing this game indicates he is scum based on similarities to one other game when you start by acknowledging that he likes to change his style from game to game. In other words, it seems you would have to see him play the same way as scum more than once to come to the conclusion that style is scum indicative, especially if you think he always changes his style.
