Looking for new moderators

#1 Post by peterwiggin » Fri Apr 26, 2019 2:20 am

The mod team is happy to announce that we have openings for new moderators. Candidates would be helping with one or both of:

1. Improving the experience for new members, especially on the forum.
2. Preventing cheating and addressing other in-game issues.

If these responsibilities sound interesting and you have ideas you think could help, then email us at webdipmod@gmail.com and let us know.

I assumed Durga was a mod. Only now do I realize she is a scrub like me. And to think I spent all this time being respectful...

Well you should be respectful to fellow community members anyways! :)

Well, there's no harm in trying if you feel you have what it takes...

The real question being, do I?

It makes her an informal mod that many thinks she's a mod, like being believed makes Zeus called god, we can also call her mod. (Confusing thing but you understand?)

Hire this one.
Mods get hired? As in paid? Do they get paid more or less than devs do? Asking for a friend :)

I'd estimate they get a small raise in plus ones, but the overall difference is likely negligible.

I'm fine with Ike being a mod, as long as he doesn't spill all my secrets to the other mods.

We also get annual exciting all-expenses-partially-paid Moderator Retreats to exotic locations like the Isle of Man, Outer Mongolia, the Belgian Congo (involved time travel) and Midway Island.

Would I be able to manage Pitcairn Island if I were to become a moderator?

We did that in '07...I suppose we might have such a bounty again...

I’d estimate we get paid about 100 times more than devs and 1000 times less than than admins
