These videos should be pinned on the Dip Advice forum, imo. This one is the best so far - keep up the good work!

If a mod could move it to that subforum I'd be grateful!

Great video, Dancing Queen!

Do you ever play Diplomacy online, and if so, on what site?

Wow, #3 was really something I needed to see. I was doing some things right subconsciously, but there's definitely some tips I'm taking away from that. Specifically, I feel I failed in a.o. this area during the last ODC.

Thanks!

I _very rarely_ play online - I've played some games through backstabbr but using Spark for press, and I'm in a game on PlayDiplomacy now.

Online diplomacy is just way too slow for me. 15 minute turns? Lets go. 2 day turns? I want to KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!!

Ah, but every once in a while, you DO have a little patience Chris. It was fun playing with/against you.

Actually, I moved the link to this video, and all of the other Diplomacy Academy videos into our main resources post.

@Dancing Queen, thank you for the videos and posting them here! If you have any others you think would help aspiring diplomacy players let me know and I'll get them added to our diplomacy resources post. (http://www.webdiplomacy.net/contrib/php ... p?f=6&t=37)

Thank you David! The other thing I don't like about playing online is randos who don't write press and then abandon when they start losing. Which makes it hard to get started on any of the established sites, who want a demonstrated track record of performance. I minded a lot less in the 90s playing on the judges, but we were all so much younger then!

I didn't pay against you on the judges. This was an Academy game. so definitely no random players there.

Ah apologies, I knew it was in the ACD - IIRC we played some Maharajah at one point as well? I'd have to go back and look.

We have live games here occasionally; 7min/phase is quite doable for Full Press if you can type at a decent speed. It's faster than a FtF game because you can chat with everyone simultaneously.

If you don't want to play with randos (which I wouldn't recommend for a live game as otherwise you will definitely have NMRs), set one up via the forum!
