Trump Probabilities

#1 Post by Incrementalist » Sun May 20, 2018 2:44 pm

How likely is it that Trump will be removed from office?

How likely is it that he will be re-elected in 2020?

Explain your reasoning.

Removed from office - Unless the Democrats take both houses in the mid-term elections, the Republicans won't allow impeachment to come to a vote just because they don't want to lose a Republican president no matter how many criminal activities he's done. The Teflon Don has managed to avoid criminal convictions for even better proven criminal cases in the past. Daffy Donald will thrown friends and even family members under the bus with promises of pardons to shield himself.

Re-election in 2020 - Trump may run, but it's questionable whether even the Republicans will nominate him. Too many scandals and the Democrats will unite in anyone is better than Trump. Plus his health will be a bigger issue after his physician revealed that Trump dictated his medical letter boasting about his great health, the best health of any candidate, and then removed his medical records in a way that violated existing law.

Trump's legal team wants to prevent his talking to Mueller because they can't get their lies straight. After a year with conflicting statements about what's happened and Trump's inability to stick to one story about anything, it would be so easy to hit him or others with lying to a federal officer if he says anything now under oath.

Not that it matters, but Biden has pretty good odds of carrying many former trump states from 2016
