If anyone wants to test their gunboating skills in advance, I'm in need of a gunboat sub for the World Cup :)

You're all about to start getting automatically added to games. I've tested pretty extensively, but something will probably go wrong, so please alert me if you see something that appears funky.

To add, please don't post here if something's wrong, as that could compromise anonymity. PM me.

Further clarification:

Not all games have been created yet. I've automated it, but it's still slow. That's why some (most? all?) of you aren't in seven games yet. I'll post here when they're all up.

OK, games are going up again. Fingers crossed. This should take an hour to an hour and a half. I'll post when they're done so y'all can tell me what I've messed up this time.

As compensation for your suffering, all GBT game buy-ins have been reimbursed by the site.

At the very least, I'll be able to start where I left off this time, so no more mass cancellations unless I've pulled another bo_sox somewhere.

I'm a competent TD I swear.

I removed a couple of posts to preserve anonymity. I'll check on everyone who's said anything once the games finish making, which should be shortly.

Alright, I think that's it.

If anyone still doesn't have a game as each country, please let me know.

You might be in some unstarted games from the first set (can't cancel in pregame). Feel free to leave those, or they'll just die on their own. Some of your games might have a '-2' in their names, which is a direct consequence of the previous issue. I think that's all the problems we have.

As a few of you have informed me, May 15th is in fact Tuesday. You have until Wednesday, May 16th to unpause.

There are a lot of games in this tournament. I'm going to do my best to keep an eye on all of them, but pestering me about anything and everything is highly encouraged. Your pause is supposed to start today? PM me just to be sure. Someone's NMRed in your game? PM me just to be sure. It's Thursday, May 72nd and your game still hasn't started? #fuckghug PM that asshole.

If there's ever anything urgent, I'm pretty good about checking the site, but you can always email [email protected] for things like emergency pauses. I also actively get notifications on my phone for Discord messages. You can join the webDip server here and find me if you want to do that.

A full player list will be going up on the tournaments site shortly, along with anything I may have missed from the rules.

Thank you all so much for bearing with me. Now my nightmare is over and yours can begin. Enjoy the tournament!

If I did my math right, May 72nd would be a Wednesday.

Anyways, thanks for running this ghug. #hugghug

possibly important note: the above comment was wiseassery and should not be construed as being relevant to ghug's alignment in any ongoing games, of which I have neither read nor participated in any of them

Hi have a question about the rules and the situation.

How many players will be selected for next turn ? 14 ? Or 21 with the number of players who registered ?

And do I understand properly ? Those who will selected and the players with the most points at the end of the 7 current games that they play with :
* a solo giving 35 points
* a draw giving (35 / n) points where n is the number of players in the draw.
Am I right ?

The top 14 players will make the finals.

I'll be doing game scoring out of 420 rather than 35, as it's divisible by every draw size, but yes:
420 for a solo
420/n for an n-way draw

There's a detailed description of how ties will be broken in the opening post of this thread.
