I was trying to do my part to bounce a thread that had turned ugly off the front page yesterday, by introducing a new topic or two. Of course since Politics doesn't appear on the front page, what I had posted here was useless for that purpose. So I edited it down to nothing.

EDITED TO ADD: That thread really makes the case for keeping Politics off the front page.
